Breakfast very crowded, but food was freshly prepared and good when you found a table. Room was quiet & comfortable, slept well. Location was what we needed. The shower - it had a small shower head and produced a somewhat feeble result.

The location was perfect to explore the town. The room was clean and the breakfast was lovely.

Nothing really The air conditioning wasn't working, we had spent the day in York as my son was on an agricultural course and there were three of us occupying one room. We had returned to our room using the hotels instructions we set the air conditioning. It would work for approximately 10 minutes however wouldn't go below 19 degrees and then would just switch off and the lights would flash so I had to keep getting up and re-setting it. I contacted reception and they said that all the rooms are set at 19 and didn't have opening windows because of fire regulations. After a couple of hours, the heat became unbearable. My son called down to reception to get some cold soft drinks , he told them again about our room they said they could give us a fan. I called reception and asked them if they could provide us with the fan, they popped up with a fan and said they would try and re-boot the system on our floor, I explained that the bathroom extractor fan didn't seem to be working either, she said " they are very quiet". The night was awful, we had the fan on all night and I had to keep getting up to re-set the air conditioning. My husband checked the extractor fan following showering and it wasn't working. On check out reception, different staff asked if everything was ok, I explained we were in room 225 and all our problems. She apologised and I explained that we were all exhausted especially as our son was about to take his exam. I asked to see a manager as I didnt feel my complaint was being taken seriously. The manager apologised a maintenance man beside her listened she said unfortunately there was no maintenance on site in the evening. I explained that the extractor fan wasn't working either and spoke to him and asked are they connected and he said yes. She said they would contact me within 48hrs but no one has.

The breakfast was good, although because of space felt a bit hectic, messy and chaotic. That we couldn’t open the window in the room….even a small bit, that was disappointing.

Comfortable clean hotel, great night sleep. Attentive staff. Would recommend. The tv in the room kept glitching about freezing.

The bed, shower, and room were so comfortable, especially after a tiring day sightseeing. Plus the location was perfect for sightseeing and access to public transport. A good breakfast the next morning set me up for another day of travelling. I found nothing I didn't like.
