HI Hostel Zagreb is located in the very center of the city, in Petrinjska Street. The main city square can be reached in a short walk, while the Main Train Station is just 984 feet away. Just the location It Seems like a place with not much love in the operation. Extremely hot everywhere in the hostel and not clean at all. Very few bathrooms for the quantity of rooms. One fridge for all the hostel.

Simple room with a large locker for luggage. The bed was comfortable and bathroom/showers were surprisingly clean and comfortable to use. Location is excellent and the staff was friendly. I had a good experience. The rooms could use a bit better cleaning, just a quick wipe on the surfaces and floor would already do a lot. Now it seemed like these things were not done after the previous guests. Also no airco in the rooms, so keep that in mind when traveling during warm periods.

SO HOT! No A/C or air flow at all. No windows that opened. I sweated through all my clothes and even sweated after taking a cold shower (even the cold water from the faucet comes out kind of warm). I considered moving to a different hostel at 10pm but at that point it wasn't worth the trouble since I had an 8AM departure the following morning. The location and everything else did not make up for the stifling heat. I would never stay here again and I'm grateful it was just for one night. Also one shared key for the dorm which is always a pain.

Female staff were great but the guy with a beard was unfriendly. No AC, no kitchen, and my first day was bad due to non-connection of wifi, this resulted to a missed meeting.

The location is fab! Check in was efficient. There were black out curtains in my room. Hint: If you are interested in a really extravagant breakfast, go next door to the Astoria. The breakfast was 18 Euro and more than you could eat if you tried. And you can have champagne with it - that is included in the 18 euro! You can whip out your laptop and work and eat like a queen/king! I slept in the bed near the window which had black out curtains. But they are just a bit short and the sun was in my eyes. Not sure what is outside my window, but it was like a junk yard. And it was noisy. But the worst was the bathrooms 2 doors down. No matter who was in there, even if they tried to be quiet, you could hear EVERYTHING and the pipes were loud. The people were quiet. The building is just not quiet. And the holes in the walls were large enough for children to go through. In the bathroom.....A little frightening... Not sure if anything was going to pop out or jump on me. No soap dispenser in the shower. No place to put your own soap if you brought any. No AC but at the time of the year I was there, none was needed. (or maybe it was central - not sure) I have been to other HI Hostels and this one just not measure up.

Washroom was clean Heard some noises in middle of the night outside room. There was no kitchen that I see in other hostels

Best part is the location, at this price, as it is in city center just 2 blocks from king tomislav square!

Honestly, didn’t have much expectations but to my surprise, staffs were extremely nicer to us… beds were clean and so was the washroom .. free WiFi needless to mention…. Cheaper with vending machine stuffs too …to add,it’s 1min walk from the tram stop (tram 2/6) to central bus stop NA
