Wonderful atmosphere! :-)

The location and spacious bungalow The electricity shut down all the night long with no air conditioning, so nothing to do with heat when the fan stopped working while we sleep!

The location is quite central in Baje, which makes it easy to get around and explore. The beach is nearby, and there are plenty of places around, so you don’t feel isolated. One of the biggest highlights for me was the social atmosphere. It’s a very easy place to meet people, whether you’re staying there or just coming by for drinks. People from nearby places like Drifters Hostel also hang out there, so it feels lively and social. If you’re traveling solo and want to connect with others, this is definitely a good spot. The staff was sometimes a bit unfriendly, which affected the overall experience. It wasn’t terrible, but also not particularly welcoming. The outside chill area could have been much better – the couches were quite dirty, so it wasn’t really inviting to relax there. Overall, the place didn’t fully live up to expectations. It wasn’t as bad as some reviews suggest, but also not great either. The food was overpriced and not very good, which was disappointing. In general, I left with mixed feelings. For the price, it’s okay, but I’m not sure if I would choose to stay there again.

I absolutely loved the people, both the staff and the guests. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The ambiance and environment were amazing, really laid-back and social. The food was honestly the best I had during my trip. They also have a ping pong table and a volleyball net so theres always something to do, and the beach is just a short walk away. It’s the perfect setup for a fun and relaxing stay. Honestly, there wasn’t much to dislike. If I had to mention something, maybe just that it was hard to leave!

Great social atmosphere and fantastic staff.

Your Zanzibar Place has the best vibes. Despite not having “set activities”, this hostel is very social, and better - it seems to attract the friendliest, most laid back travelers. The owners and all of the staff are really wonderful. Great bar. Great food. Stone’s throw away from the beach and in a very convenient location in Paje. Tons of comfy common & lounge spaces, all set in a lovely area surrounded by sand and vegetation. The private bungalows are spacious and comfortable. The prices for food, accommodation, drinks are all fair. It’s not one of those fancy, westernized, party hostels like you get everywhere in Southeast Asia, but a true, laid back, friendly beach hostel that creates an awesome vibe for backpackers and travelers of all backgrounds. We really loved our stay here, and made some great friends. There is also an adorable hostel cat there named Minouche (sp?) who I still think about often.

It is one of the best places to stay in paje if you want to meet people and have a good time. The bar is more like a pub where people from all over the world meet. The food selection is excellent and reasonably priced with good portions and fast service. Service staff is genial and helpful. Very well located near the beach with privacy and lots of space to dine, meet people or even to be alone. I highly recommend Your Zanzibar place if you’re visiting with friends and family or even alone. Can’t wait to be back next season. My stay was too short.

The next stay in two week??. I thought that I would come back oneday again but didn’t expect in the same week. Again Thanks to everybody there♥️♥️.

Wifi near the rooms could've been a plus point.

Well, they say it’s about the people not the place. I mean if you are a person who search for cleanliness, you wouldn’t find that in Zanzibar in general unless it’s something super fancy. So it was good value for money, the staff was so friendly esp Akram, Ahmed and sesenia. The owner was always helpful and friendly. At the end, I really enjoyed my stay there, I felt like I’m home and sometimes some places make you feel home despite where or how the place look like and in my opinion it’s the most important thing. The things that I didn’t like, it’s within Zanzibar in general?? it’s the fault of the Hostel. Like ants, rats, mosquitoes, flies, electricity sometimes cut off, the water as well… so I dn blame the hostel for anything. However, I believe they can improve in a lot of things and I assume they will!

Very close to the beach. The staff were very friendly and the place had a nice common you could talk to people. The food was really good. The rooms are big but the property itself is surrounded by lots of noise (not the hostels fault). Every step you can feel the building move.

The beds weren’t the comfiest

A short walk from the beach and a few minutes from Paje central area, good atmosphere and facilities in the common area. The WiFi connection was good. It’s a bit too pricy for what you get. We expect a hostel to have basic facilities for backpackers, such as a guest kitchen and laundry options. We weren’t allowed to use the kitchen even to boil some water. Add ons such as drinking water and food were expensive.

Great place to meet people and find activities to do with others. It’s basically on the beach which was fantastic. The free breakfast was nice and the wi-fi worked in the common area. I personally enjoyed the outdoor showers and even without hot water it was fine. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. I would recommend!

I had an amazing stay at Your Zanzibar Place! The rooms were simple but very clean and regularly maintained. The hostel is just 20 meters from the beach, so you’re basically waking up to the sound of the ocean every day. What makes this place truly special is the friendly and social atmosphere. It’s incredibly easy to meet and connect with other travelers whether you’re chilling in the common area, playing volleyball on the sand, or joining one of the spontaneous ping-pong tournaments that happen regularly. The food is also a highlight, I highly recommend trying the goulash and the seafood pasta, both absolutely delicious. Definitely a 10/10 from me. I’ll for sure be coming back again. This hostel is absolutely amazing, the vibe and people are Lovely! Makelele and all the team are always open to help. You can make friends easily. The beach is literally 60mts away. The breakfast is simple but delicious. It is close to Paje town and you easily walk there. The guy from Germany who is volunteering is cool and if you have any questions you can ask him without any doubt. I would highly recommend this place 100%!!
