Golden Tulip Addis Ababa

I had a very disappointing stay experience. The staff was not cooperative or flexible. There were no proper Asian food options available, and the food and drinks served did not taste good. Overall, the stay experience was unsatisfactory.

Room very cleane

Beds were superb, facility is awesome. Everything was good, would have loved a spa.

NOT in your Control the roads were Torn up and under construction the entire time we were there

Only room that as per staff they upgraded room to suite... First of all, where ever I stayed through booking.com I used to pay their local currency as always and not a single time I receive any objection in past 5 years. But this time at Golden Tulip they ask me USD for accommodation, after bit arguing, I agree to pay in USD but the return they give me in their local currency instead of USD that with the frustrating exchange rate which i don't want to accept but then they are not going to check out as I have to run to airport to catch another flight for Senegal. But overall bad experience with Golden Tulip.

The location was perfect, the staff were welcoming, the room was clean and spacious, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Honestly, I didn’t have any major issues during my stay—everything met or exceeded my expectations.

It’s not anymore the Golden Tulip it used to be The quality of the services, the staff, no maintenance at all, the shower heads … nothing is anymore like it used to be years ago

excellent restaurant staff. generally all the staffs were very professional, from the front desk, drivers, security etc really friendly and supportive i extended my check out and was to pay $50 for the period. i had cash of a $100 bill since i had low cash on my visa card i opted to pay cash however they did not have change of $50 to give. i took it upon myself in the rains to go out to the bank to get a $50 bill upon arrival they refused to accept the bill for a scanty reason that it was not clean enough, i requested to pay with the local currency, they again refused that claiming to be under strict instructions not to accept local currency. i find this to REALLY be the low turn of my hitherto a lovely stay.

Felt like the staff was looking for compensation at every turn (pay extra for an early check-in (mere two hours), even though the room was already available - ultimately did not charge us). Mix up about our included breakfast - ultimately not charged. I was a host for a group of women and was the one to explain to the staff what our travel agent included in our documents.

Good room and the gym is ok.
