The location of the room and its convenience to the city. Additionally, was grateful for the room service and them being able to attend to cleaning the room regularly from day 2 of stay. Numerous things: • Bathroom was not attended to nor completed before my arrival of check-in. Evidenced by noticable dried-up feces or feral matter inside the toilet bowl AND behind the toilet paper roll. Thus, again, indicating no clean was conducted and no fresh toilet paper roll was replaced. • Prejudice to myself from front staff and discrimination of religious beliefs. Specifically, speaking with some staff members on some queries that were abrupt, irritated in nature, inconsistent prosody, and averting eye contact when approaching the front desk (i.e., am a man of tanned complexion). Additionally, requesting alcohol be removed from the bar of the room and to be replaced with water on religious grounds and this was not respected nor acknowledged. • Difficulty in enjoying stay with damaged air-con/ heating system. I had asked for assistance from staff on adjusting the program to have the heating system activated in the room (i.e., given the cold weather) and the functionality of the system was severely struggling; staff were unable to assist on the matter.

The only good thing was the breakfast. Restaurant, room service and both bars were closed due to renovations starting the next day but they didn’t bother informing customers prior to arrival. In wet and windy conditions in Adelaide, there was no option but to go somewhere else to eat. Staff told us we could have a drink at the downstairs bar and gave us vouchers and we went down there to find that the bar was all packed up and not even open. The website and even in room TV said everything was still open. The room was not as described. The description of the room said “the suites kitchenette which features a refrigerator and kitchenware, is available for storing and cooking food” but there was none of that in our room, just a bar fridge, tea coffee, kettle, coffee cups and wine glasses. I went to reception to ask for the correct room and they advised us that there are no rooms with cooking facilities in their establishment. So we couldn’t eat the nibbles we’d brought with us and couldn’t eat in their restaurant. There was a very long hair hanging from the bedside lamp that wasn’t ours. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows were so high with no other options. The “complimentary” mini bar consisted of one stubbie of beer, one of cider, two waters and two small Kit Kats from the large packs you’d buy at Woolworths. The bath took 25 mins to fill up due to the low water pressure and there was mould in the bathroom hinges. The toilet brush holder was completely rusted and not even secured - it was disgraceful.
