Location and

The location was fantastic and suited our needs very well. Easy walking to great cafes on Hutt St. The room was large enough and located on the ground floor. Bed was comfortable. Staff were very friendly. The 'look' of the place was olde world and charming. The room was quite cold overnight and we could not adjust the air-conditioner so felt cold most of the night unfortunately. The chairs were grubby so we didn't use them (sat on the bed). They could use a very good deep clean or replacing. It was a pity there was nowhere to even purchase a drink or a bar type snack on site. The 'restaurant/lounge' seemed quite a nice space but lacked any atmosphere - no music on or even the TV that was on the wall.

The preservation and re-purposing of this historical building in the centre of the city. The support of existing cafes, rather than in house dining, provided the opportunity to connect with the local community.
