Location,Views. Attitude of staff.Quality of food. No real problems

The narrow many steps to get to my room . Rooms are very small and getting to the bathtub to use the shower is dangerous. The shower was not working

It was very comfortable with excellent public rooms. It did not have a lift which, for we two octogenarians, being on the second floor was hard work.

Clean inside, very tidy outside. Food was very good. Staff were consistently friendly.

A lovely hotel with beautiful situation by the sea. Excellent food and very friendly service. This was our fourth stay and we will be there again . The sash window in bedroom let in a draft . The heating manually operated only stayed on for around an hour and unless immediately reset, the room never achieved the warmth needed when eg watching television or just relaxing. It was always icy when we returned from dinner for example, or from breakfast. It was a lovely room but so cold , yet the bathroom was so warm all day and night.

The proximity of the sea The amazing digital shower A lift would have been nice!

Room was very comfortable. Had everything we needed. Bathroom with shower was spotlessly clean and well presented. My husband had the Suffolk breakfast which was very good. My scrambled eggs were disappointing. Our dinner was very tasty and portion size was good. My scrambled eggs were a little overcooked for my liking.

The location is superb - right on the seafront and central for restaurants, shopping and walking. The lounges are welcoming and comfortable with plenty of space. The room was well appointed and the bed comfortable. Lovely, fluffy pillows. The shower room was very modern and well fitted out. Breakfast was average with good choices. Check-in and check-out were efficient and friendly. The bar area was a let-down. Too small for so many quests and tucked away down a corridor. Nothing cosy about it. We ordered a casual lunch to be served outside on the terrace. It took so long that our hot drinks - served promptly - had gone cold. These were replaced but we're tepid at best. Breakfast choices were good but standard of food was average. Tea and coffee were again tepid. We asked for hot water to reheat tea but that wasn't really hot. I asked for strong tea (2 teabags in the pot) but got only 1 teabag. I had to request another. The newly fitted bathroom would benefit from a magnifying mirror (especially as the majority of the guests are passed middle-age (as we are). The bedroom was not spacious but we accepted that it wouldn't be. However, there was no mirror in which to dry hair. A mirror above the small shelf (with water bottle and glasses on it) would have helped. The windows in the bedroom and shower room were very draughty and made the bedroom cold very quickly. The heated towel rail in the shower room did keep the room warm.

Old fashioned elegance. Wonderfully decorated and spotless It was exceptionally cold weather and it took the lounge area a while to warm up in the evening. The bedrooms were fine though

Beautiful, comfortable bed and refreshing shower. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. Some of the service felt a little flat and the bar lacked atmosphere- perhaps some music in the background would help?

Excellent hotel , nice to enjoy traditional values with very attentive staff from moment we arrived. The breakfast was excellent and nice to enjoy waiter service instead of buffet style, same goes for evening meal which was at a very high standard . Room was clean and especially enjoyed under floor heating in bathroom . Very quiet at night and we both slept well. Cannot find anything to really complain about but if pushed I could say a better choice of draught beers would be nice.
