Need to improve the housekeeping and environment surrounding. Very good and strategic location in Ames. Very friendly!

There was piles of trash all around the building. Every garbage can was over flowing. The pool was drained. The laundry room appeared operating but found out after putting 8 quaters in the washer it didnt work. The ice machines were out of order. The breakfast was a some fruit and a muffin. The room was dirty, there was food all over the floor. The hallways smelled like weed and cat piss. There was a homeless dude that creeped around the hallways all night. No coffee. The phone in the room barley had volume. It was such a terrible experience. I will never reserve a room thru expedia again.

This place is a dump. Trash piled up, front driveway inaccessible, hallways and rooms smell bad (bo+weed+spices), carpet stained and tattered. The room itself was basic and clean, but the smell was everywhere and the hallways are unpleasant. Don’t stay here unless you have to.

Old, musty, threadbare.

Only good thing is the room rate and the air conditioning and heater worked! Breakfast was with out bananas and only two old cuties that no one took. No silverware, they need an attendant to wipe off tables.

The beds were not washed and rooms were not cleaned. There is black mold in the pool room on the walls and it smells horrible throughout the whole building. We checked into another hotel that night.
-
Such a dirty room. Chair was soiled. Shower had mold and hairs everywhere. Smelled in hallway and room. AC didn’t work. Hair dryer didn’t work. No water pressure. More weeds than landscaping in front. Worst experience we have ever had. If we could’ve found any availability we would have walked away. We come to Ames multiple times a year and will never come if Econolodge is only available.

Management was friendly recognized me by name and readily responded to any requests or concerns. The property did need some updates. First night stay was very full so room I was in had major water damage that had yet to be repaired and room updates. They needed to come update the cable box so TV could be watched

Bed bugs!!

Nice people but the facilities are in desperate need of updates and care.

Friendly staff. Not super clean. Wouldn’t stay unless had to.
-
Room was spacious and clean. Hallways had a distinct unpleasant smell. Check in was friendly and efficient. We would stay here again.

Staff were friendly, everything worked as it should, but things were not clean. The air conditioning unit had things growing in it, cigarette butts in the windowsill, and floors that left your feet black (the hotel room flooring is all vinyl). A dog was barking thought the hotel for most hours of the night. I did enjoy the plantings around the property.
