This is a charming historic house run by lovely, welcoming hosts. The location was excellent, across the street from the Emily Dickinson Museum and a very short walk to downtown and Amherst College. Breakfast was delicious and the room was comfortable and quiet. I would certainly stay here again. My particular room had a private bathroom down the hall instead of an en-suite bathroom. This is understandable in a historic house and I didn't find it a big problem. However, if you tend to get up during the night and/or prefer not to walk past other guest rooms in pajamas, you might want to double-check your room situation when booking. :-)

Beautiful, classic New England inn with a lovely screened-in porch and beautiful common areas. Perfect location - across the street from the Dickinson home. The hospitality of the innkeeper was warm and welcoming. Delicious breakfast. I would have loved if it included a bathrobe.

The Amherst Inn boasts beautiful and comfortable rooms - not just the room we stayed in but the shared parlor, dining room, garden seats, and our personal favorite spot, the porch looking out on Emily Dickinson’s home. The hosts were very accommodating, allowing us to check in early, and cooked delicious breakfasts. Our stay was a total pleasure. Not a thing. Everything about the Amherst Inn is top notice.
