High level of streetnoise and noise from other guests in the halls outside the room

The location was great. Stairs. Too many flights , narrow and dangerous steps. Bedrooms were not ready for check in even dough we had a late check in. There were no towels in our room and we had to go find them ourselves because there were no staff in the building. Used bedding and towels laid in the hallway floor for the afternoon and night. They were only removed by the next morning!!!!

It was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly.Location was great. You could step out the door and right on to the tram. Those stairs up to the room were brutal. Especially if carrying luggage. If you are young they would be a challenge, but as older adults they were awful. Guests need to know before booking

The location is great. The room is renovated and clean. The staff are friendly and helped us to carry luggage up to the third floor (no elevator). The toilet smells. The whole room smells like the toilet. And it took two full days to address this issue. The room is cramped. There is not much room left outside the beds.

Dutch Charm is modern amenities…clutter free… Tall narrow stairs..needed Small lamp/ light in coffee/ closet area so didn’t have to turn on bright overhead light while others were sleeping…learned to close drapes in our front bay windows to keep out heat while we were gone and so A/c could easily keep up…very hard to read brass plaque with hotel name..would have liked at least one softer bed pillow..

It was close to Tram 14. Tram 14 runs through Dam Square on its way to the Airport. It was close to Leonardo Boutique Hotel, where we enjoyed their relaxing lounge for drinks and snacks. Too many stairs. The 2nd flight of stairs are so narrow they are dangerous. Access to hotel staff is through a "hologram" display screen (very impersonal). Army green paint in the bathroom and hallways is just ugly. Bathroom is so small there is no room to store the fresh towels. To access the far side of the bed I had about 6 inches to squeeze between the end of the bed and the wall, and lean forward to avoid the TV mounted on the wall. The floor is sagging, so the bed does not lay fully horizontal. The bathroom floor is elevated from the main floor by about 4 inches, which could be a serious tripping hazard if you forget it's there while entering the bathroom in low light conditions (middle of the night bathroom run).

    Not clean at all

Clean and comfortable rooms Stairs. I’ve been in many European hotels without elevators. But the stairs in this building were grueling! Many and very steep

    Room was amazing

I liked the neighborhood, near a quiet park, the Resistance museum and some nice restaurants. The room was clean and spacious. Just about a 15-20 minute walk to the center of the city. We were not aware that until we got there that we were on the 4th floor with no elevator. Many of the stairs have very narrow treads so you have to be careful using them, especially with luggage. The hotel staff are friendly but off site, (readily available on screen), so it was not feasible to demonstrate issues with the room to anyone. The fridge was kept in a poorly ventilated cabinet which led to inadequate refrigeration unless the cabinet door was kept open. The TV dangled on a loose arm so it hung over the bed and one had to crouch low to get around it. We did email the hotel staff, but they did not seem to fully comprehend the problems, which would have been much easier to demonstrate with a room visit. The windows in the room either faced walls, or were placed oddly near the floor. The room space was not effectively utilized for storage, so there was not much room for clothes. A lot of this could be fixed quickly and cheaply, except for the stairs and lack of views.

N/a Room was a little small

  • Engine customer Apr 2026

The room was big, well appointed, felt luxurious. we could hear noise from the hallway but it was only when people were walking in and out so not too bad.

The double room was very cramped in the bed area. We did have a mouse in one of the rooms, 2 chocolate bars were nibbled off while in a suitcase.

Having absolute no lifts in the hotel is fine, however it would be good

Location - On arrival - No reception - a "virtual" man in a box! - On departure there was a human being at the reception. - The Hotel should inform that it is not advisable if you have problems going up on stairs, very steep.
