Excellent location with multiple trams and an Albert Heijn across the street. The staff were so friendly and helpful! Our room was bright and airy with a nice balcony and a very comfortable bed. Just be aware that there is no AC or elevator. We had a first floor room and the weather was cool, but those could be problems in hotter weather or if you had a higher floor - the stairs are very typically Dutch steep and shallow.

The location was great The stairs and lack of air conditioning were terrible. But I should have read more into reviews.

The staff are wonderful and super helpful. Gave us a quick rundown of Amsterdam since it was our first time visiting. A little small.

Nothing I disliked, but maybe it’s fair to warn that there’s no elevator and the stairs are very steep.

Very clean, well kept rooms. Loved the balcony. Close proximity to activities and transportation.

The location, cleanliness and the very friendly staff. The stairs and the rooms are a bit small.

Location was great, front desk staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations, and the room was comfortable (bathroom was great). Maybe the stairs, but not really an issue!

Wonderful location, clean rooms, pleasant atmosphere. Our room was tiny. Only one person could move at a time and I am glad we didn’t have a suitcase as I can’t image how it would fit. For such a tiny room , we paid way too much. :/

Our stay at Alp Hotel in Amsterdam was a disappointment. We spent two nights there after arriving from the United States with significant jet lag, hoping for a comfortable place to rest before continuing our trip. Unfortunately, the hotel was anything but restful. The street noise was constant throughout the night, even with the windows closed. Since the room had no air conditioning, keeping the windows shut made it hot and stuffy, while opening them only increased the noise from people outside and passing trams. On our first night, we were also awakened by an ear-splitting alarm triggered by someone smoking in a room. When we mentioned it to the front desk, we were told this was “normal,” which was surprising and concerning. For the price we paid, the hotel offered very little value. We later discovered that some luxury five-star hotels in Amsterdam charge similar rates, and the difference in comfort and service is enormous. To be fair, the location was convenient, the shower was good, and the beds were comfortable. However, both the room and bathroom were extremely small and cramped, making the stay quite uncomfortable overall. We would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel to fellow travelers looking for a comfortable and restful stay in Amsterdam. See above

I loved the hospitality shown to us at the hotel. Both Nur and Tahir were extremely kind and gave us so many recommendations for places to eat, how to navigate around, and even just good conversation about their lives. I would have enjoyed having a full size bed instead of two twin beds.

The stairs are very steep and there was no elevator but that was not really amything the hotel could do (old historical building in Amsterdam).

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was great because it was close to all the sights but not right in the middle of the craziness. If I ever come back to Amsterdam I will definitely stay there!

There was no bar )as stated on the website). They did have coffee/tea, but there were never cups out so you had to wait on the receptionist who was never at the desk. The mattress was very uncomfortable and actually fell off of my bed at one point.

Staff was incredible and everything was exactly as expected in terms of the room. Super clean and very comfortable Nothing

  • Engine customer May 2026

The room was small, door to the bathroom could not open fully because it hit the bed. Shower was nice and good size; the toilet/sink area was extremely tight. As is somewhat typical in an old building in Amsterdam be prepared for very steep narrow stair to the rooms. We had a nice balcony over a tree lined area; it was just too cold to enjoy it. I am sure that balcony would be nice in the warmer months.

The staff was very friendly and helpful; the room was clean, cozy and comfortable; the shower was great and the coffee machine in the lobby was awesome! More storage space for our clothes would have been great, but we understand that most hotel rooms are not very big in Amsterdam, and they did the best they could have with the space.

The location was great, the staff was very friendly, the rooms had great touches and were very clean. The stairs were fine for us but I think people who have trouble with stairs should be aware.

Very friendly and helpful staff, good, free coffee in the lobby. Courtyard room on the first floor was very nice.
