S&A Vondel Park Hotel

We were kicked out due to Marriott/Sonder fiasco

As hôtel was closed on arrival I strongly recommend La Verdi a nice little hotel near by who took pity on us 4 ladies arriving in Amsterdam late in the day with nowhere to stay. I had to contact Expedia for refund

We enjoy our stay, but the room had several deficiencies: it was small; the lighting was poor (hard for reading); no phone, no pen and paper; no fridge; no rug; and the print on the evacuation plan on the door was so small one couldn't read it, But great location; very nice free coffee in reception and very helpful people at the reception; all quite new making disappointing the owner didn't add the minimum expectations of a Marriott hotel.

There was mold present and pulled up sheets and mattress toppers which made sleeping uncomfortable. They provided a €100 code for a next stay and are now closed…

Clean room

Nice room, a bit small but very clean.

Room was deceptively small in the basement

Room temperature was hard to adjust to the level of warmth we tried to sustain.

There are plug sockets in the bathroom which was awesome.

Great location, good room, great staff. Good value. Definitely would stay there again and would also recommend to others.

Tiny room but lovely, just what we needed and perfect location! The staff was wonderful also!

The property is lovely and in a very nice location. My only complaint is that the walls seem quite thin and I heard my neighbors in the hallway often.

The only downsides were that in our room there were some parts of the wooden flooring that were chipped and I caught my foot a couple of times so had to be careful where we walked. The hotel tries to be eco friendly by not over providing toiletries, so if you need more toilet rolls, towels etc. you need to go to reception and pick up more yourself from a cupboard. I understand what they are trying to do, but when we ran out of toilet roll, it was really awkward having to walk to reception to pick up more and then walk back through the lobby with the toilet rolls in your hands. It wasn’t a big deal but it was something I didn’t think we’d need to worry about!

Great location

Even worse were the bugs in the room! Numerous flying bugs kept appearing one after the other, making it impossible to rest, relax or sleep comfortably. Our room was also incredibly loud, with poor insulation from the outside and poor insulation from the slamming of doors, and people in the halls In all, a miserable stay, and really would not recommend. The staff were lovely though, but good luck actually getting some sleep

The heating system did not work fully. It was too cold in the room. The water for the shower was luke warm and made showering unbearable due to the cold windy weather. It was freezing in the unit. I would not stay here again.

The front desk staff was unbelievable. Super accommodating and helpful. They really made my day.
