My Place Hotel - Ankeny/ Des Moines, IA

Convenient clean friendly staff.

Price was very reasonable. Very clean and well maintained. There was even a kitchenette which could be very handy.

This is a very nice hotel. We only stayed one night so didn't need the kitchenette but if we needed a several day stay it would be a great place for that with a small electric stove, microwave, refrigerator and silverware and dishes, a few pans. Quiet and very clean. Beds are comfortable.

Didn't use amenities. Room clean, bed comfortable, quiet location. Restaurants close. easy to get to

Had an issue with room staff did not hesitate to correct issue

We were looking for a hotel for just a place to lay our heads after a long day of softball tournaments and need to get up fairly early next day. This met our needs. Room was very quiet despite proximity to the front desk and laundry room. Only thing I noticed was burn marks on the stovetop which we were not using anyway and slight odor of previously cooked food in the room.

Easy to get to

Friendly staff and good location and fair price Room smelled really bad, smell was stuck in carpet and probably grease in the microwave hood fan. Dishes for kitchen were not available to borrow but had to be purchased. The hard floors were sticky and when I mopped it to get rid of the sticky the white towel was really dirty tap that was gross.

It was clean, comfortable and quiet.

Great location with a pond to walk around. Friendly staff. $25 pet fee was higher than other My Place properties ive stayed at. I travel with a highly trained dog. I wish there was a way to show or build a profile in the My Place reward system that reduces the fee after several stays.

Staff let us check-in early and were very kind. We didn’t love that you had to rent plates, etc. to use the kitchen

We didn’t get to stay here since they canceled our reservation so we don’t like anything about it! My advice is do not book with this hotel. Three days before we were to arrive, the manager, Adam, called and told my husband that they were canceling our reservation. When he told why they were canceling our reservation he lied to us and told us that we were one of the last ones to reserve a hotel room, which was not true because we reserved in early October and then tried to tell us that there were graduations going on which is not the case in early April. What really happened is we got a good rate through booking.com and the hotel wanted to charge more because it was a very popular weekend during due to the Luke Combs concert in Ames, so instead of honoring the confirmed reservation we had, Adam made up an excuse to cancel our room so he could charge more for the same room. We had to scramble to find another room that was available, which was further away and cost more.

Due to the significant health concerns, I felt unsafe and checked out immediately.

Front desk person very cheerful, offered our dogs treats after asking if they could have one.

Oh my gosh - what a terrible experience. We went to check in there was no one working - we were there almost an hour and no staff showed up so we didn't get a room. We were trying to go to a concert so had to get ready in the public bathroom because we never got a room. We called all the numbers, even called corporate, and never got a person to help us. Definitely don't recommend!!

It was a nice room but My room was not properly cleaned and I paid for two queen beds and they gave me two full beds, Also I couldn't figure out why my room smelt like a litter box and found a corona bottle under my bed but I still don't know if that's why the room smelled. Customer service was wonderful I can at least say and the hotel was very quiet and clean in and around common areas of the hotel and outside.
