Hotel FRANQ

The staff were friendly. The location was amazing. I didn’t like that the staff weren’t flexible. We had power outage in the room in the morning. We went out after power was fixed for one room but the second room was not fixed (we booked 2 rooms). At check out, we asked the hotel to waive the parking fee (35€) as compensation for the inconvenience but they didn’t! They told us they’ve been nice with us by allowing us for one hour late check out!

Beautiful hotel on a great location! They have a wonderful secluded garden where you can enjoy your free drink upon arrival.

Such a beautiful boutique hotel. Stunning spaces, beautifully designed, and excellent location. Noortje, The woman who took care of our every need, was exceptional. She was so kind and friendly and made excellent recommendations for our itinerary and secured us a reservation at wonderful hidden away restaurant. We couldn’t be happier! Nothing

The staff was helpful. Safe did not work and were told it could not be fixed until next week. The bed was on rollers and kept moving on us. Room was so small you could not open a suitcase.

Room was lovely, bright, and comfortable. On the smaller side, but assume that to be expected in a city like Antwerp and comes with the charm of a historic property. Because it was smaller, it was great to have everything be very clean lines, more sleek, and functional. Seemed that there was some dark mold in our bathroom along the front line

The hotel is beautiful, stylish, and extremely comfortable. The family room was ideal for us. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and hospitable.

The hotel is very well located, in a calm area close to the main Antwerp's attractions. Fantastic lobby and an inviting bar/restaurant downstairs. The staff is polite and competent (the service at breakfast in particular!). Breakfast was tasty. Good cosmetics in the well-designed bathroom. Water and cookies for a welcome. Free coffee/tea in the room. The bed was OK. The room was way too small. They call it "cosy" on the hotel's web-site, but I would rather call it "crampy". No place to store your stuff - the small wardrobe which can accommodate about two pieces of your cloth is a joke. No proper sitting area in the room. On top of that it is super-acoustic. It was quiet from the outside but not from the inside. You hear very well through thin walls what your neighbours are talking about and all the noises from the corridor. An overrated and too expensive place as for the comfort they offer. We will never come back.

The beds were great and the room was very quiet.

The large size of our room and bathroom was nice. We booked the junior suite. I booked this property because it was listed as a Relais and Chateaux property, and this must be a mistake. While the hotel was lovely and clean, it lacked the luxury we were expecting. We have stayed in maybe a dozen R&C hotels ever, and each time have been so glad we choose to seek them out and sometimes pay more than we otherwise would have. We had just checked out of Hotel Heritage in Bruges and hated leaving because it was so wonderful. Hotel Franq did not measure up in any category. It felt very average, in no way luxurious, the R&C branding (some sign near door or check in, their magazines in lobby or room) was absent. There was no traditional welcome gift in the room (drinks and chocolates were what we’d been receiving in Belgium). The room and bathroom was stark (not in a contemporary way) and felt dated. The bath robes were noticeably discolored and no longer white from so many washings. They felt dingy. The suite had no minibar to purchase from and the hotel bar was manned by the only Hôtel employee - the front desk clerk. She was very kind and welcoming but could only offer beer or wine as she explained she was not a bartender. The hotel restaurant was closed it was a disappointing evening for us as we just wanted to stay at the hotel and not go out. Overall, I actually don’t believe this is a R&C hotel. It’s not listed on their website, which seems odd. If it’s a new addition to the brand, they should reconsider because compared to the rest of their portfolio, it’s a weaker property and we would not ever return or recommend.

The Franc is an elegant hotel, very well located in Antwerp. Its staff was professional, gracious and attentive. The lighting for shaving was inadequate.

Nothing, everything was really good

Friendly staff. We were earlier than expected and they let us check in earlier than their usual check-in time. Room and all other areas were very clean. Location could not have been better. We stayed there to celebrate the birthday of my partner and they arranged balloons, a card and a birthday cake. /
