The service was excellent. Special mention to the chef, Soysa, who catered to our tastes. Ishara and Kanishka were very helpful, too.

Food was good. Staff was excellent. Very helpful in attending to our needs. The place it self is very beautiful and peaceful. Very close to all main attractions.

Good room with delicious buffet breakfast of local food. Great pool with lovely views. Helpful staff that organized tuk tuk journeys and tour of the ancient city for us. Hot water in the shower was unreliable.

Something to improve could be to keep a chair in the room.

I booked only two nights at the hotel but instead I spent four nights due to the cyclone Ditwa. Most parts of the island was shut down and I was the only guest the last two days. The power was on and off so was the network connection (even via my T-Mobile international service). The staff in the hotel took great care of me during the whole time. From breakfast, lunch to dinner, and finding drivers to take me around safely. Together we did evening walks to visit the village. The experience really delighted my journey in Sri Lanka! The chefs specifically prepared non spicy food for me. The chapati was great. The flood was difficult for all of us but our time together was very valuable to get to know the country and people. Hotel introduced tuktuk driver Sampath to me. He helped me in multiple occasions and even drove me to Sigiriya. Nothing

Monaara leisure gave us outstanding service for the entire stay. Really enjoyed the calm and peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommend to anyone who looking places to stay near the main attractions in Anuradhapura. Also need to mention person “Lakitha” who gave us friendly hospitality and all the staff.

The hotel is located in a quiet place close enouth to the Budhist temples. The pool has a great view to the rice fields . We enjoy the dinner although it was quite spicy to our standards.

This is one of those standout moments in our Family trip. What could be better after a hot day discovering Anuradhapura to be welcomed back by the wonderful staff, a refreshing dip in the infinity pool overlooking the rice fields and finally the excellent choice of food served up by chef before retiring in the lovely bedroom. Exceptionally good value!

I recently stayed at Monaara Leisure during my visit to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the ancient city. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made for a cozy stay. What stood out the most was the incredibly helpful staff. We encountered a few minor issues with our room, but the team went above and beyond to resolve everything quickly and ensure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Their attentiveness truly made a difference. If you're a nature lover, you'll enjoy the presence of peacocks roaming freely around the area – it's quite a unique sight! Just a heads-up: if you're a light sleeper, the peacocks can be a bit noisy at times, especially in the early morning hours. The location is another big plus – it's conveniently close to all the major attractions in Anuradhapura, making it a great base for sightseeing. Overall, Monaara Leisure is a lovely boutique hotel that combines comfort, nature, and genuine hospitality. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This is our third stay in to Monaara, and it's great to see their efforts to keep improving the standards each time. In fact, they're adding additional amenities to make our stay more comfortable, such as a RO plant water purifier added to the water system, and the showers now get purified water. That gave me a pretty excellent sense about this place's future. Bravo to the friendly operations staff and the ownership.Thank you again for making our sacred stay a pleasant one.

Yes, it is an authentic Sri Lankan one. They have their own garden and provide food from it. There is a rooftop Budu Madura, and from there we can see Ruwanwelisaya, Jetavanaramaya, Thuparamaya, and Mirisawetiya.

Nice Location. Close to main attractions. Many peacocks. Clean. Fresh food. Friendly staff. None.

Location to ruins and temples was good. Garden and wildlife in rural setting. Staff friendly and welcoming. Hotel room did not have a refrigerator which made storage of medication challenging, and found this was common in Sri Lanka. On demand heater for shower did not provide adequate or consistent hot water.
