Whalecome Aonang Resort

Krabi is quite small but having said that the hotel is in an excellent location, close to all amenities. The size of the room is very very small and the bathroom does not have a window or proper ventilation.

This property should not really be described as a hotel, it feels much closer to a hostel or motel. If the nightly price were around €30 or less, it might be acceptable, but for the price we paid you can easily find a cleaner and better stay nearby. Our first room (unfortunately I did not take photos because we immediately asked to change it) had countless ants, a very strong unpleasant smell, and visible mold everywhere. When we reported it, the receptionist said it is “normal because you are in the jungle.” However, we also stayed in Khao Sok Village and by the river, which is actual rainforest, and did not experience anything like this, so that explanation does not feel reasonable. The second room was better, but still far from clean. There was mold in multiple places, the floor was swollen from water damage, and the bathroom fixtures were rusted. Overall, this stay was disappointing and does not meet what most people would expect from a hotel. I am giving 3 stars instead of 1 because the receptionist herself was very friendly, and there was also a very lovely cat on the property.

Lovely stay and would go there again if we return, just off the main street, but still quiet and safe. Simple and straightforward place to use as a base. Group of rooms in a typical Thai style set up - i.e., reception, then you walk through, and there are multiple rooms. Good air conditioning and cleaned very well every day. We spent the new year at this hotel. 1 night 2 rooms. The location is perfect. Close to the beach and the road to the beach is 50% shaded. The owner is very kind. Messaged me in WhatsApp the day before and let me know that one of the room's would be available earlier. On the day once the rooms were available he messaged me again. It was new year Eve so at the end of the day they had some free beer's to the guest's. Free included Breakfast. Cleaning is top notch everything is very clean and new. The cheapest rooms only have window for the internal stairs. This is a downside but in return there is no outside noise from the bar's close by. It's very quiet. But other rooms have proper window's. It would be nice to have secondary a weaker light in the room. That people can use for when they are going to bed. The toilet light does the trick but it also runs the strong fan.

The location was very central, but luckily it's a bit tucked away from the main road. Ao Nang can get a little chaotic so it was good that this place wasn't directly connected. It's just a short walk down a driveway to the main road which helps a lot. Not much to complain about. I guess the room could have used a little more furniture/storage. It's a pretty open room so your things will be kind of out and exposed, which isn't a big deal but it's nice when you can store things so it feels less cluttered.

The bathroom could be updated.

The very good location, near 300 m from beach, the very good bed, very clean, the staff was great.It has a beautiful garden with the clean pool.We also ate near the location at Family Restaurant, good food at good price. The bathroom need to be updated.

The hotel is a bit old and could use renovation, but that did not bother us.

The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Pretty good location --- easy walking distance to Ao Nang beach and main street. The breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is lovely. I didn't have hot water in my shower. It was only ever luke warm but it wasn't a major concern.

I liked my room and found it comfortable enough! It was clean and had a little patio in the front. Slept well. Staff were kind and friendly. Breakfast was good with enough variety. It was well situated and close to everything…a short walk to the beach. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about the Whalecome …it wasn’t fancy but it suited me!

The Whalecome is a little oasis right off the Main Street. It is a beautiful property with lots of greenery. The staff is friendly, the room was spacious, very comfortable and clean. Loved swimming during the hot afternoons. We would definitely stay here again. Nothing

The facilities are old and need some renovations, some painting and a bathroom upgrade!

Excellent location, very quiet atmosphere. Close to the beach and the main location where the boats are leaving for island tours

The reception staff here were very good and one lady in particular was excellent and booked our onward ferry journey and taxi. The accommodation was probably the most basic that we stopped in during our trip but it was comfortable and clean. The location was very good, just a few minutes walk from the beach front where there are lots of bars and restaurants. The swimming pool is small with a couple of beds. The room was a decent size and adequate for our one night stay. The towels were washed but slightly stained and need replacing. On arrival our safe didn’t work but the receptionist changed the batteries immediately, resolving the problem.

1. Location!!!! Just 5 mins walk to the Ao Nang Beach. And from there you can take the long tail boat to the Railay beach/4 Islands!! Although someone thinks that staying in Ao Nang Beach is too touristic, it is really convenient considering you need to take shower immediately after visiting beaches/islands. And there are many shops and restaurants around too! 2. Budget Price with such location 3. Room is spacious !!! with a nice balcony. 4. Generally clean. 5. Consistent and strong supply of hot water. 6. Smart TV provided. 7. Some guests say that the hotel is noisy, but if you stay in the B session, it is extremely quiet at night. 1. The toilet design is quite outdated. Not many spaces/hooks to put your stuff in the toilet. 2. There are many insects and mosquitos. 3. Staff are not very attentive.

We really enjoyed our stay at Whalecome, especially for the price! The location was great and the room was very comfortable. We would 100% stay again! Because the doors to each room are slidey doors, it can be very noisy in the evening when people return or leave very early.
