Candlewood Suites Asheville Downtown by IHG

There are quite a few homeless people wandering around the area, but obviously that isn’t the hotel’s fault and didn’t take away from our stay. One thing that really stood out to me was the coffee bar. They offered complimentary coffee, which was a nice touch, but the creamer provided was Coffee Mate creamer that specifically states on the bottles that it needs to be refrigerated. There were two gallon-sized bottles sitting out on the table at room temperature. I would strongly recommend switching to the individual, shelf-stable creamers instead. Unfortunately, because of this, we ended up having to walk across the street to McDonald’s for coffee in the morning, which was a little inconvenient. Another thing to keep in mind is that the walls are VERY thin. If you’re a light sleeper or looking for a particularly quiet night’s rest, you may want to bring earplugs or keep that in mind when booking. Overall, though, we had a good experience. The property was clean and appealing, and the studio-style rooms were a great feature, especially for longer stays.:::

Top notch in every way. Beds are so soft and comfy. Staff are kind. Rooms are spotless. Amenities are plenty...and the extras are worth the rates. Highly recommend!

Everything. Free laundry for guests. Pets allowed. Within a couple of miles from Mission hospital. Great rates for people who have people in hospital..I will stay here again here. Nothing

I would say what I disliked was homeless people walking around. But there was a security guard patrolling the area so it wasn't too much of a concern

Very good staff. Extremely helpful Area was hit by the hurricane a couple years ago. Lots of building demolition. The hotel property was in very good shape

I liked about my stay was the comfortable bed, the clean and spacious room, the quiet atmosphere, the friendly and welcoming staff, and the free parking. I also liked that everything was nearby, which made it very convenient. Overall, I had a pleasant and relaxing stay. I had a wonderful stay. A special shout-out to the lady at the front desk, I didn’t catch her name, but she was incredibly welcoming and had such a warm, friendly smile. She truly set a positive tone for my entire visit. Thank you The deadbolt/locking mechanism on my room door didn't seem to be working from the inside, which made me feel a bit uneasy. I ended up placing a chair in front of the door for peace of mind. I’m sure it’s an easy fix, but I wanted to mention it so future guests can feel fully secure. ​Overall, it was a great stay, and I would consider returning!

My stay was great. Friendly, helpful staff, room was clean and spacious, and the best part was the rooftop bar. I was disappointed that they offered wine on the bar menu but didn't have any when I asked for it. Daughter used the gym and said it was great; had much more to offer than the average hotel gym. My only complaint is that it said breakfast was included when looking online to book but there was NO breakfast. They did have coffee and some breakfast items to purchase (cereal, poptarts, etc) but no actual breakfast. Other than that, I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
