The location and the private baths that all the rooms could use, which made it a better value than other hotels where you need to pay premium prices for 貸切 The lingering odor of smoke, check-out felt a bit early at 10:00.

Sea view and rooftop private hot spring There was no lounge in the foyer.

  • Engine customer May 2026

It was a very large room. We were happy with the layout and what was offered in the rooms. The floor mats were quite thin and uncomfortable. The kids were only provided beaded pillows so had to sleep on the chair pillows from the table. The room also smelt like old cigarettes which we expected but I wouldn’t stay here again as a non smoker.

They messed up on the day for my breakfast order.

Room was comfortable and spacious-- we loved the futon setup and tatami. Private baths were excellent to go to with our young children and easy to get as there were 5 of them-- it was helpful for one of the baths to have separate tubs so the children could add some cold water to make the bath less hot. if a private bath wasn't available, the public bath was excellent as well. Location was great-- within walking distance from two train stations in Atami, though people with many bags or mobility issues may need to take a taxi. The hotel provided a helpful and affordable luggage forwarding option to the station on our checkout day so we were able to explore Atami freely after checkout. We did not choose a package with meals but would like to try next time if we are able to come again!

Good Location to enjoy Atami firework in the room. Private onsen bath is great with fabulous sunrise view. Friendly staff is very helpful. None

Great private baths on the roofs with multiple views. Nothing.

Possibly the interiors are a little dated but since it is well kept and very clean it maybe even added to the charm. Oh and it had the grainy Japanese pillows, I guess some may not like them, but it's probably possible to exchange them.

The private onsen on the roof! Our room had a sea view and was a wonderful first ryokan experience for us. Like most of Atami, this place seems to have had its hay day in the 70s-80s. So it’s a little “vintage” feeling, but clean and updated where most needed. And Japanese vintage was its own experience.

    - Stunningly beautiful and clean rooftop private onsen(s); - In room dining was expensive ¥15000/pax but very much worth it. Amazing traditional Japanese kaiseki style meal; - Large, comfortable and clean Japanese style (ie Futon bedding) room; - Drinks bar in lobby; - Restaurants, convenience stores and even supermarket right around the corner; - Staff, especially foreign English speaking staff, are brilliant: courteous, professional and helpful. - Lobby gets crowded on 10am check-out in morning; - Lobby and room has a nostalgic Japan bubble era look and feel. I actually loved the “old school” feeling. Hotel is very clean and well maintained throughout, however; - A little bit of a walk from Atami Station up/down steep hill on narrow footpaths (would recommend call taxi if carrying luggage).

Private open air bath was our family’s highlight, 5 rooms to choose from (dependent on availability), convenient location from Atami train station, reasonably priced, great value incl meals, friendly staff. Family thoroughly enjoyed & would highly recommend to others 10am checkout a bit early (not sure if standard in Atami)

    Nothing to not like.

  • Engine customer Aug 2025

It smelled strange in the room.

The location was close to the beach, restaurants and some shopping. Family Mart and 7-11 down the hill for last minute needs. Very spacious rooms/suite with a retro vibe that can’t be replicated. If you want to experience nostalgia for a bygone era of late 80’s early 90’s Japan, this is the place. Plenty of room for a family. Hotspring is nice, feels like a place where locals come to get away for less. The ceilings were low, and my tall western husband kept hitting his head going from room to room- he often remembered to duck, but not always. The biggest size of yukata offered for the hot spring was 175 cm for men, he is 190 cm, so… The room had lots of visible wear, which would be fine, if it were also clean, it was not up to the standard I have come to expect in Japan. There was mildew in the shower room which I was able to clean off the tiles myself before showering- and dust in many corners of the suite. The view was nice, but obstructed and the chairs don’t move so you can see better out the window, and the carpeted area was in bad shape with stains. Water damage on walls in main area, musty smell throughout room.

Awesome location and amenities, great onsen and friendly helpful staff! Great place for a weekend away from Tokyo or a big city! Only thing I could think to mention here is maybe if the ac was just a little stronger but it works perfectly fine once going

The food was really good. Really fresh fish and types of fish you don't often see. Everything was clean, staff was really nice. The room was old-fashioned but nice. We all have a lot of tattoos so we were worried about the onsen but there are several private ones with a good view. I'd stay there again. Great deal for the price. The only thing I might take off a point for was the buildings blocking the view of the sea from our room, but not a big deal.
