Arethusa
About Arethusa
Nestled in the heart of Athens, beneath the iconic Acropolis Hill and surrounded by some of the city's most famous landmarks -including the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Tower of the Winds and the Temple of Olympian Zeus- the Arethusa Hotel invites you to experience the vibrant energy of this historic city. Inspired by the iconic architecture of the late 1960s and the modern urban vibes of Athens, this 3-star hotel with 87 rooms is located on Mitropoleos Street, a prime spot that blends retro charm with the bustling atmosphere of one of downtown’s most commercial areas. Just a short walk (3 minutes) from Syntagma Square and the central metro station, as well as the Parthenon (10-15 minutes), the Arethusa Hotel is the perfect base for tourists. Immerse yourselves in authentic Athenian life while sightseeing and explore Greece’s rich history. The hotel’s central location also makes it an ideal spot for discovering some of Athens’ hidden gems, including high-end jewelry boutiques, unique concept stores, third-wave coffee shops, top-notch restaurants and local artists’ ateliers and galleries. For the most jaw-dropping view of the city, head to the hotel’s rooftop. Grab a Fer-Forgé chair, relax, and let the Athenian sun reflect off the ancient marbles of the Parthenon gleaming in the sunlight. This spot will soon be even more spectacular, as the rooftop is set for a complete renovation to become one of Athens' most dazzling destinations. Whatever your needs, let our experienced staff help you in the best way possible. Hospitality is one of the Arethusa Hotel's core values, and it's only a request away for you to experience it. Available 24 hours, our staff at the front desk can arrange car rentals, taxi calls, and guided tours, while offering valuable information on transportation and sightseeing, whether it’s a visit to the Acropolis or a ride to Sounion. Regarding your personal belongings, we offer luggage storage for free or with a fee depending on the duration. As for your food and drink choices, we offer an American-style buffet breakfast and a certified Greek breakfast (served from 06:30 AM to 10:00 AM) on the half floor, as well as access to a modern café on the ground floor. For your meals or light dinners, the Arethusa Hotel gives you the opportunity to enjoy a personalized dining experience by scanning a QR code in your room that connects you to the best restaurant options via the Tasteat app -your food concierge. Our hotel guarantees room cleaning every other day (during breakfast hours), including a full replacement of toiletries and a change of bed linens to ensure a tidy space for your relaxation. If you would prefer daily housekeeping, simply let us know and we will be happy to assist you. License Number(s): 1033379

Good value for money. Quiet, clean, and convenient.

I liked that the location of the hotel was in a central location of Athens, easily accessible to so many parts of the city. I was happy to know there was a elevator. My room was clean and the bathroom was great. I wasn't sure how to work the A/C so it was a bit warm in my room, staff was a little bit intimidating to ask them how to fix it. Luckily, I only stayed 1 night.

The first thing to mention is Front desk person Helen. She was an absolutely GEM. Personable friendly and went the extra mile taking care of our early check in needs. I will mention this Hotel to my friends and family for their Hotel needs in Athens. The breakfast was exceptional. nothing!

Breakfast very good. Staff excellent! Location amazing. Great value.

The lifts are very claustrophobic and small . Always fear the idea of the lift dropping midway and not being able to get out.

Near the center of the city. Stayed only one day.

The location, the breakfast, and the staff are very nice and helpful. It's my second time staying at Arethusa, and now I know for sure that it's a very good choice Nothing

Excellent location and easy to get taxi. A little noisy on the street during the weekend.

Couldn't believe it when they gave bag with breakfast-to-go and send housekeeping to take it as if it was a big deal because I said I hope to breakfast in cafetaria. I felt they think I wanted to cheat to get the breakfast to go which doesn't represent much of anything. Frontdesk isn't guestfriendly. Seem to do their job forcefully with little graciousness.

Breakfast Air conditioning Lift

Location and maintenance staff helped me understand how the room safe worked and fixed the air conditioning. I wished there were small bread rolls and not just slices of bread. Breakfast was fine.

Nothing, everything was good.

All the front-desk staff members were very helpful & friendly. The breakfast was ample & varied, catering to the tastes of many cultures. Great location off Syntagma Sq, & really nice extras, like a bathrobe & slippers. And plenty of hangers! Not a thing.

The breakfast was good.

Renovated and modern rooms with very comfortable beds. The breakfast was good. The terrace was closed and the ventilation was a bit difficult to manage. The windows do not keep the noise out.

The air conditioning in my room did not work and the management knew this when they gave me that room, i sweated all night.....The younger female desk staff communicated poorly with guests, needs to recieve proper training.

The person at the front desk was yelling at another employee as I walked in. This was uncomfortable for the guests who were waiting in line. I thought the room was overpriced but this must be due to location.
