El personal fue excepcionalmente amable, atento y servicial durante toda nuestra estancia. La habitación era amplia y cómoda, la comida del restaurante fue buena y el muelle sobre la laguna era un lugar tranquilo y hermoso para relajarse y disfrutar del paisaje. Los mosquitos fueron un problema importante, especialmente el primer día. Una excelente atención por parte del hotel sería ofrecer un pequeño repelente de mosquitos de cortesía al momento del registro y vender frascos adicionales para quienes los necesiten. El agua caliente era inconsistente, las escaleras hacia los edificios inferiores eran resbalosas y tenían poca iluminación por la noche, y la habitación carecía de amenidades básicas como cafetera, microondas y tazas para café. Además, al estar alejado del centro, los traslados en taxi pueden resultar costosos.

The quiet and relaxed

Location

Location was approximately 10 minutes from the town. It was quiet and beautiful. Our rooms were comfortable and the dock and lagoon was stunning The Wi-Fi signal wasn’t the greatest. The shower had warm water and the rooms could use a mini fridge. Other than that our stay was absolutely amazing.

Everything!

The forest around the rooms was awesome The furniture at the pier was not enough. The kayaks were dirty as well as the life vests.

The staff was very nice and we had every day coffee to our room and they delivered it very fast. We had very bad smell that came from the sewerage all the time we spent there.

Wonder location nestled up to the lagoon. Room was clean and offered wonderful views. However extra care prior to arrival would have revealed hot water not functioning and room safe not operating.

We love it here!

The location and views were absolutely beautiful and made the stay very relaxing. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The scenery alone was enough to enjoy the stay without needing to leave the property. The room itself needs some maintenance and updating. The curtains were ripped, the sink had cracks and leaked, the shower sprayed water everywhere, and the hot tub took a very long time to fill due to a loose faucet. The WiFi was also very limited and only allowed streaming when other guests were not actively using it.

Loved the view of the lagoon and access to the water. Staff were great. Restaurant had good food. Property was very well taken care of. Appreciated the free kayaks available for use. Loud music really travelled from a neighbouring property having a big party, but that was not the fault of our hotel and it only happened the Saturday night. I also thought the restaurant could have a little more variety of foods on the menu.

we did not eat breakfast. The restaurant was open air, and there were a lot of mosquitoes. It was also hot.

The hotel was easy to locate. The facilities were clean. The food at the restaurant was the best we had during our 1.5-week stay in Bacalar, better than restaurants downtown and at other hotels. It was nice to have complimentary kayaks too. The condition of some amenities could be improved, for example, the lounge chairs at the dock (most were broken, and very uncomfortable). Also, every building is supposed to have a jacuzzi on its rooftop, but ours wasn't working. The small stove in our room also wasn't working.

The lagoon deck is just perfect! Well maintained, and in a good spot in the lagoon. It is also quite nice that they respected the surrounding jungle, it makes it a quite nice walk when moving around the hotel. The food at the restaurant is quite good, not too many options, but the food is very, very good. The staff was super polite!! We were expecting a 2 bed room. It had one bed, a good one, and the other one was a sliding bed that hid under the other one. I would have been ok if they had warn us. It is one of those not nice surprises when you walk into the room. They also need to catch up with the maintenance. There were rust all over the place. The mirror in the bathroom had a lot of "dead spots". The soap/shampoo dispenser had an immense amount of something that I hope it was just regular rust.

Breakfast was great, very good restaurant service. Lagoon Tour suggested was great. Hot tube /SPA water was cold, no opportunity to heat or warm the water in our suite.

Great location near Bacalar and also right on the lagoon. A bit tired and not very well maintained. Not very many seating options around the lagoon. I would recommend staying in a hotel in town instead and going to a beach club or doing an excursion on the lagoon.

The place is absolutely beautiful and the food is good, although, not many options. Unfortunately the place is advertised as somewhere to relax and be calm, since it's in the middle of the jungle. However, our neighbors decided to have a party in the middle of the night, we went 3 times to ask then to please keep it down, and they say if we have a problem go to the administration. The thing is that between 10 pm and 7 am there's absolutely Noone at the hotel that can help you with anything, so, you're on your own. We had to swallow their party until 4 am. The next day we went to the administration, even told them I have the video if they needed it. Their answer was to downgrade us with no refund and if we leave they also won't refund anything, the only thing they could offer was a discount in food and the hope that this people won't make a party that night again. Additional to this, the first day we were there, we shower and the room got flooded, the receptionist told us that due to the inconveniences they will give us breakfast as courtesy... plus the "discount" for the inconveniences. At the end, they didn't give anything as courtesy, charged us 600+ for service and their discount was about 6% For a place advertise as 4 stars and a very high price compared to other places, this wasn't worth it at all. If you are visiting Bacalar, my suggestion is to go to Waah Cocina, it's also a small hotel. Service is top, food is delicious, very original and organic. Wouldn't recommend to stay in MBH and definitely won't return

The staff was really helpful and even brought warm water for our babies’ bottles in the evening.

Great relax in the nature

I loved the view from our room. We had the lagoon view and I think it was the best view in the entire place. I also really liked the availability of bikes and kayaks as a first come first serve. We were lucky enough to use both. Its also pet friendly, so brought our dog who loved the environment. We also had our toddlers with us. It wasn't the most toddler friendly but as long as you keep an eye on them you will be fine. Plent of space for them to run around especially by the restaurant + water is shallow enough for them to get in and see the fish. The person who handles the whatsapp messaging is so nice and responsive. We had late night requests and they were able to accommodate with no issues. I just wish there was a coffee shop or coffee maker in the room. Having to wait for restaurant to open at 8am was a challenge as the location is a bit far from town and not close to any shops to get coffee.
