The room was as advertised, with a little terrasse and a spacious outdoor bathroom. It was private and close to the water. The staff were super sweet and friendly. The facilities on the water were great as well, but the main hut was under construction. I appreciated the free kayaks as well, even though it was too windy to use them during our stay. The bedsheets were old and cheap and the mosquito net was not actually functional as it did not close completely. There was an unpleasant odour from the bathroom sink. The lights from the path outside shone through the window slats and wallboards at night which was distracting when trying to sleep. No major complaints, just a few little things to consider.

Javier was a great host and made us feel very welcome. He was great fun. The place is at one with the beauty of its surroundings.

Excellent place to relax

Javier was excellent, he tried to do everything in his power to make my stay nice. The compost toilets I thought was great. The bed was comfortable. The facilities on the lake were fabulous. The location was quiet (but then again that can depend on neighbors which is beyond their control so I was lucky). The room was dark, I could barely see in the daytime and needed to put on a lamp at all times. Maybe paint the walls a light color to help? The food in the facilities was very mediocre at best. At least they had service because other places don't even have food. I think they could put more attention in all the details and upkeep to make it a more pleasant stay.

It's a really nice place to have time for yourself, read, relax, do some kayaking. We were considering some boutique places in Bacalar, but it was definitely a good choice to remain outside of Bacalar with direct access to the laguna. The hosts arranged a boat ride for us at very reasonable rates (450/person with departure in Bacalar). The road to the property is in pretty bad shape. Nothing an normal car can't cope with but not a pleasant drive. You think twice before you decide to drive to Bacalar in the evening (we didn't drive after sunset). The food is okay, but for the same price you get much better stuff in Bacalar.

The fact it’s right on the lagoon and the fish tacos (the whole menu is actually delicious!), the very friendly service and the laidback atmosphere The bumpy road to go in the resort

Location is good but better choose next door places Safety of this place ( installations cords electticity) is very problematic. The hangmat cord was so poorly maintained that it broke and my son fell. The electric cords are near water. Staff speaks no english (but is friendly). Does this place meet any minimum safery regulations? I d doubt ot

The road to get to the hotel is a little rough. We were able to drive it fine even in a renal car but just be aware.

I was I had known that there was no internet connection in the villas. I’m not complaining as it serves the outdoors in this beautiful location but I would have been better prepared to really detox here and let go.
