We loved Mikasa so much we returned for a second stay when our original plans didn't work out. The staff are wonderful from Andres and Suri at reception, to Ale and Domingo in the restaurant as well as the amazing Housekeeping Team. The dock area was our favorite spot; so relaxing and such beautiful views. Having Ale or Domingo bring a passionfruit margarita to us on the dock was icing on the cake! We felt that the distance to town was convenient when we wanted more action and we really enjoyed staying in the quieter part of town. We cannot wait to return and spend more time at Mikasa! We felt that the food was hit or miss, but definitely improved with the new menu that was implemented during our stay. The pool was delightful when clean, but I imagine tough to keep up on the leaves.

Breakfast is not available u til 8. Wish there was coffee maker in room or available before 8 so early risers can enjoy coffee with beautiful lake sunrise.

The hotel was very clean and beautiful; my room was very comfortable and enjoyed the design of the shower. Per the staff the workers were very polite and helpful; Arturo was extremely helpful in getting arrangements at your other hotel to use the kayaks and other ammenities. The free breakfast was very good! The only complaint is the girl that works in the evening on the front desk; she was very nice but wasn't aware that the lagoon was closed on Wednesday's. Since she told me either Tues or Wed is available to do the 5hr excursion, I decided to do it Wednesday; then I was informed by her Tuesday night no excursions on Wednesday's. Luckily Arturo was able to make the arrangements at your other hotel for Wednesday.

Nothing! We would absolutely stay again!

Property was nicely maintained, rooms were spacious and clean. No beer/wine/cocktails first night at restaurant. Food was great though.

Too many insects (ants and mosquitoes)

Nothing to be honest, just the cenote which you can go for a day use for 150 pesos including kayaks and life jackets Not comfortable at all I’ve been to glamps before with much more comfort facilities Shower water is terrible Many iguanas and lizards everywhere Also location is very far, far end of the hotel zone

    Lakeside Pool, staff, breakfast, location

  • Engine customer Apr 2025

The location on the water was perfect. Unfortunately we got a lot of wind when we were there so we couldn’t use the free kayaks and paddle boards. We did enjoy the lovely pool though. Nothing

Very good breakfast, private and beautiful view of the lagoon. Rooms had no chairs to sit in or a table, only the bed or out on the balcony. The hotel was far from town.

Location, extra large room Employees watching us haul bags with no offer to assist.

The hotel has direct access to Bacalar Lagoon! They also have kayak and paddleboard to do some fun activities and totally the perfect way to chill and enjoy the incredible views. It's so peaceful, and the lagoon is just gorgeous. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, this place has it all: stunning views, fun activities, and the best vibes. Can’t wait to come back! The only thing to note is that while the hotel is beautiful and peaceful, it’s a bit off the beaten path, so you might need a car or a ride to get to nearby restaurants and shops. But honestly, the privacy and tranquility were totally worth it.

Beautiful location, next to the lake. Free use of kayaks. Nice swimming pool. Beautiful garden. Balconies and roof terrace need cleaning. It would be nice to have table and chairs on the roof terrace. Breakfast was fine but sometimes not hot enough.

Everything about this hotel is good. It really feels like home. The staff is smiling, the location is very peaceful, beautifully decorated with a deck that allows you to chill and enjoy the sunrise and sunset by yourself. Kayaks and paddle boards are on demand, and the restaurant is very good ! Everything set so well that you could just stay at the hotel and do everything from there ! We loved it

The beautiful view on the lake at the dock but you can enjoy it only if you are lucky, because there are only 4 chairs. The hotel is situated right on the main road at a curve. Trucks pass by DAY AND NIGHT because of the building of the Mayan Train, using their loud brakes multiple times every minute. It is incredibly frustrating to be woken up by every single truck that goes by. The manager is a crook and knows it. If you want a room further from the road, you have to pay a premium, and she takes advantage of that. We paid to have a better room but our room had mold and smelled like it too (see pictures). We found dirt in the bathroom (piece of tissus, hair...and even pubic hair!!!). There were no lights or bulbs on the ceiling and very few lights in the room (no reading lights or anything else). There weren't many outlets either, and the few available were poorly located, making it impossible to charge a phone without it hanging over the floor. Not all windows had shades (see pictures), no curtains or solution to hide the light from windows. And you're constantly woken up by the trucks braking, even in room with premium upgrade. The safe had no batteries, so you can't store valuables. Apart from this, the hotel is in a wooded area, and the rooms look nice from the outside. However, with more than 10 rooms, you would expect more than just 4 lounge chairs at the pool or the lagoon. The pool was very badly cleaned and never filtered. The breakfast is not great either. The access from the street is dangerous because it's not concreted and there are big holes in the road. There are no english-speaking staff at reception and often no one at all, because and in fact, you are often welcome by a QR code. And when you write a WhatsApp message to explain the problems, the answer was "ok. todos los comentarios nos alimentan." instead of doing something to help! No help, no apologies, compensation or other commercial gestures...awful.

Good location by the water, small hotel 9 rooms. Ok service from the personal. Food ok but basic. Away from town if you prefer. To much plants and trees on the premises so mosquitoes are present also inside. And limited view to the water. But the sunrise at the dock I awesome ;) nice with sub board . Pool was good There was very much fungus in the master room, like a lot of.. a serious problem. We could not get another room and we were all coughing after 2 nights. Other rooms might be better. quite a lot of noise from all the trucks on the Main Street. It is 24/7 and unfortunately for the hotel the construction of the Mayan railway going to last for years. Door to our room did not close but the mosquito net work ok

everything. the staff were amazing, room was amazing, the breakfast was simple but delicious and was a great start to the day.

  • Engine customer Feb 2024

The hotel was off a noisy highway that you could hear most of the night. The staff had a burn pit that the smoke came into the room in the morning. There are screens and blinds but no windows.
