La Casa Sahil Hotel

1. Unlike other hotels where we stayed earlier, we requested an early checkin. Though the entire hotel was empty, but they asked to pay half day rent, qnd we had to pay. 2. It was strange that many people have master keys, they just open your room door and walk in without seeing you or your stuff. This happened on day 1 and day 2 as well. 3. They didnt  clean our room despite asking on second day. However cleaning was provided on 3rd day. 3. since the hotel is located on a busy road, high traffic noise is expected till 3 in the morning. 4. No elevator in the building, so you have to carry your luggage by yourself to the dirst floor. 5. Upon checkout, we requested for extension in time, however they asked to pay half day rent for a couple of hours. We end up leaving the room at exact 12 PM. No store room to keep guests luggage, so they kept our luggage in the passage way.

Location, breakfast, and a complementary cake. There was a super lovely woman during the breakfast, she was so caring and friendly. Thank you for her. Breakfast was nice. The water in the toilet, bathroom, and shower didn’t drain properly — the drain was completely clogged. It was really uncomfortable to take a shower because we were constantly worried the water would overflow. We told the hotel staff about this issue several times, but they never reacted or fixed it. Also, the main door to our room didn’t even close properly — is that normal? During our two-day stay, no one came to clean the room even once. We had to ask for slippers, fresh towels, and water ourselves. There were also no toothbrushes, toothpaste, or other basic amenities provided.

The hotel was great. When we arrived at the hotel, we met the hotel employee on the stairs. He was leaving the hotel, and his working hours were over anyway. But he helped our suitcases. Thank you!

It was a great hotel. I will stay at this hotel again when I come to Baku. Thank you to the receptionist who helped us with the check-out Clean and quiet hotel in the city center, travelers should definitely come here

They tried to charge you extra every time. Don't have professional staff. Must need to learn english.

The location, the nice treatment, the cleanliness, the large rooms and the bathroom bidet are important to us. Everything is beautiful, but there is no elevator, but the stairs are also beautiful and wide.

The windows/door were not really soundproof.

I enjoyed the location and easy excess to metro station I wish there was a lift in the hotel. The Shavarma guys outside the hotel, over charged us. We paid 59 Manat for 2 shawarma and a doner. That’s nearly USD 35. Nothing to do with the hotel but be careful with these guys since they on the same building downstairs.

Good location. The hallway is good. Looks like the owner invested in remodeling. Overall, rooms are not bad, but small. Pretty clean. I know Azerbaijan and Baku for hospitality. However, these guys have unusual ideas about service: 1) Was a real quest to find the place, took us at least 30 min with all the luggage - Booking says it's house #18, reality is #26, fortunately, the Google maps pointer and our taxi driver were correct, but there's no sign on the door!!! It's just an old residential building entrance. Had to ask quite a few people until we made it. Tried calling the hotel a few times - no response. 2) Both receptionists I saw spoke neither Russian, nor English. Communication was a mix of body-language with a few English words for numbers. 3) We were leaving early for our flight, definitely missing the breakfast. I asked about the options, maybe a discount - the place is not that cheap. Was no way to communicate my request. Asking about the payment, the receptionist managed to explain they don't accept payments via Booking. Ok, let's go for a credit card, but their terminal ran out of paper:) The good news is that he managed to get a new roll a few hours later. 3) Tried staying away from the bathroom - it had a strong smell. 4) Trying to find the receptionist, while away was a challenge on its own. The sink plug got stuck and water wouldn't exit. A cleaning lady came and took it out with a big screwdriver, revealing the grill inside was physically broken (!). 5) The hotel is located on the 1st floor with no elevator, and we came with our grandmother. 6) There was a regular hotel safe box, but didn't work. Asked the receptionist. The answer was: yes, we know. Ok, do you have another one? No, they all don't work:) 7) Cherry on top - room key-cards. They would stop working after using them for a few times, so that you would have to run to the reception to reprogram them all the time.
