Really enjoyed the breakfast here! There is a wonderful selection of fresh food, great coffee, and plenty of excellent vegetarian and egg options to choose from. The ambiance and service are wonderful. My only minor feedback would be to look into the seasoning on a couple of the hot buffet items, as the taste fell just a bit flat compared to the rest of the excellent spread. Still, a very solid breakfast and a great way to kick off the morning.

The rooms allowed to us on the 4th floor was very unclean and old rooms. Even budget hotels would have better rooms. Room 415 and 430 had a very bad bathroom stench throughout our stay. The rooms badly needs updating and renovations. The carpet area in the 4th floor was so bad and unclean with stains throughout the corridor. It looked like rats are living there with holes in the carpet. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE and a HYGIENE/HEALTH ISSUE. Carpets in lower floor looked updated and a bit cleaner. Didn’t eat at the hotel. Location is excellent. Person at front desk said they upgraded me - to two twin beds in a larger room from a large size bed in what they said was a smaller room than the one they “upgraded” me to. The shower head was not clean. It had brown stuff around many of the holes through which the water came out. I took a pic and showed it to the person at the reception desk when I was checking out. The back of the toilet seat of the Toto toilet bowl was not clean in spots that were difficult to reach for cleaning. They might need to use some sort of spray to clean those parts. The rest of the room was fine.

Clean room Renovation work noise. Front desk asked me to adjust the constant drilling noise. The hotel somehow seemed old.

Such a beautiful hotel right near Cubbon Park and Church street. Spacious room will beautiful old wood furniture yet with full modern amenities - lots of power outlets, hot water in the shower, and even a bidet! Had an exceptional stay. And great value. Maybe the quality of tea/coffee could be improved
