Sourire at Rattanakosin Island

Ms. Sourire is very kind and helpful (and has a great sense of humor and great stories if you ask her). The beautiful courtyard atrium she has created is a peaceful oasis in the city. Location currently has a lot of construction all around the street nearby, and because it is so conveniently located near Khao San Road, some poverty and people not doing well is part of what you pass when walking places.

Construction zones but that's nobody's fault.

It is a nice hotel in a good location in a hostel vibe. It looks old but it is clean. The staff are kind and helpful. Khaosan road is 20 mins of walk away. There is an endless construction nearby. I didn’t hear anything at night but they are starting to work at 6 am in the morning.

Close to restaurants Bad - would not stay here again. Room was very dusty on all surfaces, dirty floor. Had to squeeze past toilet to get to shower. Sink and shower drains were clogged so you shower standing in a pool of water. Tons of mosquitos in lobby and our room. We got bit including while sleeping. Lady who runs the hotel seems ok at first, but is not friendly. She was yelling at another customer when we were checking in and ended up being unfriendly with us too, angers easily. Do not recommend this place.

It is very central and close to khao san road therefore you can easily walk to all major attractions in the old town center.

There is construction in the neighborhood and several buildings look abandoned. But we felt very safe walking about. This is old Bangkok to be sure. Right near Democracy Monument. Short 15 minute walk to see sunset from the golden mount temple.

Location in the old city was great. Walking distance to many things. Although in a very busy area, street noise was not an issue. Be aware that the metro is not available in this part of the city, so will need to catch a ride if going a distance. Although the woman who runs the place is lovely, they are severely understaffed. In our week stay, our room was never cleaned once. We had to ask for clean towels, for them to empty our trash, for more toilet paper, etc.i even asked for a cloth to wipe down our bathroom sink area at one point. This is a hotel (not a guest house) and the woman confirmed that it would be cleaned daily, but that staff was out sick. However, upon return of staff—-cleaning never occurred.

The staff is exceptional, and there are affordable restaurants nearby. A nice little garden lake environment. Things could use some maintenance, but they honestly do not have the traffic to afford spending more money on the property, at least the time I was there. The woman behind the desk could not be better at her job, she is excellent

It’s a beautiful property in the old part of Bangkok It is in a state of repair - I was here in 2008 and thought renovation would be completed (naively) however the service is bad because the elderly lady has no staff since COVID - everyone arriving when we were there including ourselves were asked to sightsee and come back when room was ready - upto 3-4 hours later. We didn’t stay a second night and forfeited our paid booking because our fist night was so disrupted: first mosquitos in the room, then early hours of morning the owner was showing guests to the room nr ours and lights outside were going on and off every time one of them passed. Still jn the early hours there were drunken guests returning - and it finished the sleepless unsatisfactory night just perfectly In sum, I had chosen this location and hotel to be away from the modern centre for a more restful city experience, capturing the former charm of former Krungthep and I was more unrested than upon arrival Solution: this beautiful place needs to be invested in for renovation with excellent management - it has such potential and this elderly couple can retire gracefully ??

This sweet comfortable hotel was close to everything we wanted to see but also offered a quiet peaceful respite from the city

The room we booked wasn't available to us (superior twin). Tried to give us a double which wasn't suitable. (2 adult friends) Ultimately, owner reluctantly gave us a (deluxe) twin but the room was not deluxe and hadn't been properly cleaned ?. Also No hairdryer, no water in room, etc, not what you'd expect for "deluxe" The owner made an issue about it being a more expensive room (ultimately gave us the room "for free" for one night) but made us pack and moved us to the room we booked the next day. Not great customer service, especially when it was hotels mistake by double booking the room we paid for. The room we originally booked was fine and good value. Shame owner double booked it. I had also booked it for a further 2 nights at the end of my trip to Thailand, but will sadly not be returning, so I cancelled it and booked elsewhere. Shame that this was our experience as this hotel has great potential and could be very special. Breakfast was lovely.

The location was amazing, couldn’t have been better. It was rather unclean when we arrived, and felt like there was a lack of essentials, like bin? And hairdryer

The hotel is so central yet peaceful and we loved the details in the design and layout, a hidden gem. The owner is super helpful and we enjoyed many conversations with her. Plus the best omelettes in Bangkok! There was nothing not to like!

excellent position, 10min from Khaosan Road, friendly staff dirty sheets with stains. On the second day in the morning the lady cleaning rooms changed it after i asked it , but still i found a small stain on the second sheets. Maybe they should buy new sheets. I had cleaner staying in hotels for 20/30€ per night. For the price that i paid here, i had the sensation that wasn't worth the price(133€ for 3 nights). It would be a good thing if they provided a "do not disturb" sign that you can put outside your door, so you don't get woken up by the cleaning lady. It wasn't early in the morning, but anyway after a long night in Bangkok i would prefere to not be woken up and take a good rest. Twice in the night when i came back the elevator wasn't working. The old lady in the reception was really friendly, so i take no pleasure to write this bad review. I hope it helps to improve.

Location was great, the room was lovely. A really good balcony and bar area. Staff were also really helpful and helped us get a taxi as well as recommending places and trips.
