Excellent location and value for price. Sauna was amazing, food trucks were on point, and staff were so friendly and fun. Will definitely be coming back.

The location truly couldn’t be beat! Probably the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Also it was super hot, if there was AC it wasn’t doing anything. Felt very crowded and not the cleanest.

Staff were friendly, the concept is good and I imagine it worked well when it was freshly renovated. The place has huge potential It's filthy, it needed a spring clean three springs ago. The floors in the room had sticky stuff on them, lots of dust on the surfaces and under the beds. I understand that when you cook you need to clean up after yourself but the kitchens were filthy to begin with. Grease on the walls and ceiling. Shower in the Annex hasn't been cleaned recently and the toilet wasn't cleaned once while I was there. There's a cleaning roster on the door that hasn't been recently filled out with just joke comments on it. Hand basin needs bleach and Scotch Brite. The people staying were friendly but it has the feeling of a halfway home rather than a hostel inviting visitors to the city. The cleanliness issues just require elbow grease, not difficult to improve, but clearly management isn't aware or doesn't see it as an issue. Will continue to decline

Lots of space and variety of facilities. Location waa great. Sauna and extra showers were great. Smoking areas should be designated. I would sit down somewhere and start to relax, just to have someone sit nearby and start smoking, so I would have to move. Also, there should be better management of the refrigerators, they were crowded and too difficult to find even a small space to put my food.

The people were really nice Outside the building not manicured and not enough parking.

Pros Washroom in my building was ok Ample parking space in and around property Food trucks on premises. Cons Whole property felt mismanaged My room was hot as an oven. I could not sleep at all at night because of the heat and no ventilation. It was even difficult to sit there. When I asked the front desk , they said they will look into this but nothing was done. There is an odd smell in the building which might be lack of deep cleaning and old carpets. Also it seems that some people live there permanently and use the rooms and bathrooms as their personal closets. Won’t stay again.

Fabulous location just a few blocks from the main entertainment district. Very nice staff. Great beer garden, beer/cider truck, food trucks, hammocks, bikes, tv room with at least 10 guitars for guests to use, sun room, sauna with great showers. Terrific!

No railing on stars, gaps in door frames, bunk beds not put together correctly, and waking up covered in bug bites on a box spring mattress.

The building is obviously old, but it's been kept up on pretty well. It has a great vibe, and is very nicely set up for just hanging out with friends or getting to know others. Wish I was able to stay for a few more days- maybe next time.

Careful. If you book on Expedia and check in late, they won't be able to reach you as Expedia provides no personal contact info, so you'll want to call in advance. The shared rooms created a tricky dynamic where some people were hot, and needed the fan on, while others didn't like the sound of the fan and would turn it off. Also, people coming in and out at all hours can make for a disruptive night of sleep. Works if you're in your early 20s and looking to stay on the cheap. Good location and food truck vibe. Showers are clean. Bring your own towel. Theirs are worn.

Great location, great energy of conviviality The room was too hot at night

I was in a 4 person room and the room was large and my bed was super comfortable. One of the best bonuses to the who property is the sauna. I used it almost every night. Also, having the tasty food trucks on site was lovely. Nothing in particular.

Great location, walking distance to downtown Bend. I wanted to love this place and I’ve stayed in hostels all over the world, always with unique and fun experiences, but this was the worst hostel I’ve ever walked into. Bunk + Brew was probably a beautiful place when it first opened but it looks nothing like the pictures anymore. I wish I’d read the reviews before booking because this is a party hostel and I was in Bend for the outdoor activities. I assumed being in Bend this place would attract mostly outdoorsy people but that isn’t the case. The receptionist was unfriendly and didn’t make me feel welcome. There was no tour of the facilities aside from pointing out which building I was staying in. The bunk room was terribly dirty and smelled like stale smoke. It wasn’t a comfortable, welcoming vibe but felt more like a dingy, run-down frat house. I went to the main house to look around and in a back living room area I walked into a few guys sitting in the complete dark, doing nothing…just sitting there. Probably on drugs, it felt very creepy. I saw that there would be karaoke until 11PM that evening and the stage for that was directly outside the hostel bedroom, which had the window wide open because it was hot and stuffy in the room. I had an early morning ahead of me and I needed to get good rest. I don’t mind sleeping in a room full of other respectful people, but this seemed like it was going to be a party-all-night kind of place. The receptionist said I couldn’t get a refund because it was within the 24 hour cancellation window. I booked that morning with the intention of staying there but this place is misleading and needs to update their pictures with the reality of the run-down and dirty accommodations that it is. The pictures are false advertising. When I left, I went out the back and noticed a few tweaker-looking vans/campers parked back there with sheets over the windows. As a solo female traveler, this was the only hostel I didn’t feel safe at.
