The building is obviously old, but it's been kept up on pretty well. It has a great vibe, and is very nicely set up for just hanging out with friends or getting to know others. Wish I was able to stay for a few more days- maybe next time.

Careful. If you book on Expedia and check in late, they won't be able to reach you as Expedia provides no personal contact info, so you'll want to call in advance. The shared rooms created a tricky dynamic where some people were hot, and needed the fan on, while others didn't like the sound of the fan and would turn it off. Also, people coming in and out at all hours can make for a disruptive night of sleep. Works if you're in your early 20s and looking to stay on the cheap. Good location and food truck vibe. Showers are clean. Bring your own towel. Theirs are worn.

Great location, great energy of conviviality The room was too hot at night

I was in a 4 person room and the room was large and my bed was super comfortable. One of the best bonuses to the who property is the sauna. I used it almost every night. Also, having the tasty food trucks on site was lovely. Nothing in particular.

Great location, walking distance to downtown Bend. I wanted to love this place and I’ve stayed in hostels all over the world, always with unique and fun experiences, but this was the worst hostel I’ve ever walked into. Bunk + Brew was probably a beautiful place when it first opened but it looks nothing like the pictures anymore. I wish I’d read the reviews before booking because this is a party hostel and I was in Bend for the outdoor activities. I assumed being in Bend this place would attract mostly outdoorsy people but that isn’t the case. The receptionist was unfriendly and didn’t make me feel welcome. There was no tour of the facilities aside from pointing out which building I was staying in. The bunk room was terribly dirty and smelled like stale smoke. It wasn’t a comfortable, welcoming vibe but felt more like a dingy, run-down frat house. I went to the main house to look around and in a back living room area I walked into a few guys sitting in the complete dark, doing nothing…just sitting there. Probably on drugs, it felt very creepy. I saw that there would be karaoke until 11PM that evening and the stage for that was directly outside the hostel bedroom, which had the window wide open because it was hot and stuffy in the room. I had an early morning ahead of me and I needed to get good rest. I don’t mind sleeping in a room full of other respectful people, but this seemed like it was going to be a party-all-night kind of place. The receptionist said I couldn’t get a refund because it was within the 24 hour cancellation window. I booked that morning with the intention of staying there but this place is misleading and needs to update their pictures with the reality of the run-down and dirty accommodations that it is. The pictures are false advertising. When I left, I went out the back and noticed a few tweaker-looking vans/campers parked back there with sheets over the windows. As a solo female traveler, this was the only hostel I didn’t feel safe at.

The location was very good. It suited my needs. Visiting family. I booked a semi-private room. With three beds. There was a girl in the room that rented the whole room. They just gave me the code and went up and I just went right in.. so the girl and I went downstairs to work it all out...Since there was a private room available they just gave that to me. That was Great .... Until.... at 3:00 in the morning I had someone desperately trying to get into the room and looking through the window. Apparently they give the empty rooms to the staff if they're open and they didn't properly document me being in that room. They were very nice and comped the next night. They definitely made it right. Thanks so much you guys. Good customer service

The property is not safe, the doors do not lock, the mattress has a burn whole, the bathroom was dirty and when we tried to check out early for our safety no one was around. Then they refused to provide a refund, even for the night we didn’t stay. This property should not be on Expedia, it is basically like a flop house. Awful and unsafe.

Sauna and empty spaces to call my own for reading I got a warm welcomed by Destiny and Jazz who introduced them self only, with much staff about

Excellent location just a couple blocks from downtown! The food trucks in the patio area have AMAZING food. There is a very social atmosphere at this hostel which is cool! If you are solo travelling, it is very easy to make friends. The hostel is a great budget option when visiting Bend. The cleanliness of the shared bathroom could be better. With the number of people sharing the facilities, it is somewhat understandable.

I showed up and the staff all seemed hungover and disorganized. My room wasn’t ready. They couldn’t check me in cause the computer died. They tried to check me in anyway. They showed me my bunk and my linens weren’t clean. They all seemed like kind people. But the vibe was wack. I am not sure why the reviews are so good. Go find yourself a campground.

It was very homey, even with a very short stay, I felt right at home. Nothing to really dislike.

Great location, cheap, love the yard I stayed in the annex. It was filthy. The entire bed squeaked with even the tiniest movement.

Close to downtown. The property was filthy and drug ridden. They should call it Bud and Brew. People had marijuana pipes sitting out with their eeed in the kitchen. Also their karaoke night went almost to midnight downstairs and kept me up because it was so loud.

I Absolutely Loved the Free-Spirit Atmosphere! Staff was Helpful & Courteous! My room was Quiet & Comfortable! Highly Recommend!!! I have No complaints.

Bunk Drunk & Brew Club. No misnomer/ hyperbole here. It doubles as a DRUG/ ALCOHOL DETOX CENTER catering/ pandering to the local alcohol addled population, and house you with them, knowing implicitly who they are. I'd be grossly negligent in not reporting they need a good beg bug eradication company. Yes. The latter occupy the flea bitten flophouse, then have the unmitigated temerity to TRY to lay/ assign blame on to others for again their "LOCALS" glaring/ compromised hygiene. The onus was on this critter to vacuum my room. It's classic MOM $ POP quasi Hostel, who are pretty derelict/ negligent in thoroughly cleaning and leave beds no longer occupied unattended. It screams gross mismanagement. Specifically. two of the rooms were veritable pig styes. mostly a byproduct of their local folks with patent alcoholism. ? ? ? ? It warrants mentioning it's not HOSTEL INTERNATIONAL, where the aforementioned event's/conditions don't exist. Then their's the issue of questionable/impugnable employee's with borderline personality disorder and relatedly substance abuse, accounting for their behavior. This is just a snippet of opprobrium. I could cite too many to enumerate. CHAPTER, VOLUME. VERSE.............

At least we learned our lesson and will never advise anyone to stay here. We’ve stayed at many hostels all over the world and have never had anything go this horrible. We left a day early and booked a room at a traditional hotel because it wasn’t worth staying one more night at this place.
