Everything. The room was spacious and had so much room to roam. Was allowed to bring my humans with me. I let them sleep on the bed and I slept on the floor. The smells of the property were exquisite. The views from the second porch balcony were second to none! So many cars, squirrels and random crows. Can’t approve enough 4 paws up! Didn’t like that I couldn’t follow my dad to the bathroom. It was through another door. Nothing bad tho just a personal preference.

A charming tastefully decorated Victorian . The staff were lovely. They fed us and entertained us with Cole Porter songs. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless Nothing. Am going to recommend to all our friends
-
It is a classic house that is full of antique s and fine wood working.
-
Uniquely furnished according to the Victorian time period and well located! The restaurant in the hotel was the best Thai food I’ve ever had in the US
-
large room. quiet. Thai restaurant. Within walking distance of downtown Bennington. tub and shower. free parking. Piano player in evening. refrigerator in room. needs a king-size bed. housekeeoing just changed linens; no cleaning or bed-making. very narrow shower. no USB outlets. breakfast $10 extra and not a lot of choice. dinner service very slow (only one person cooking and serving). needs a hand-held shower. no cancellation policy.

Quiet, comfortable space. Room needed a little TLC. Television was damaged but worked, Broken coffee table, some cobwebs on the ceiling fans.

The living room was very comfortable. The music was appealing. Didn’t like coffee maker. Coffee weak. Breakfast could have offered more.

South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire.

Talk about charm...this is a beautiful and well-maintained Victorian home. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and well appointed. The Thai restaurant inside the inn was excellent, and there was a live pianist on Friday evening to add to the charm.

Charming B&B style hotel in beautiful Bennington, VT.
-
Room was clean staff was good. Based on pictures we thought the jetted tub was larger
-
Overall, the B&B is quite dated, and not as clean as I would have hoped. Also, the reception we received at check in and during the continental breakfast was lacking...being a family run establishment, I would have expected a better welcome and given a general overview of the property and its amenities. Even at check out, we were unable to contact anyone.

The room was large. The fireplace was nice. The staff, highly praised in reviews, only interacted through a ring cam. I never saw anyone. A restaurant staff member tossed the room key to me with no check of identity and about three words.
