There was mold in the bathroom sink. The bathroom smell was very bad. It was unhealthy and intolerable.

Rooftop onsen

Location is excellent ? I liked onsen a lot and rooftop pool is very nice. I would also recommend foot massage. Overall - it was super ? relaxing experience. Breakfast is also good, especially tempura.

Our room was not clean. There were stains on the bed cover, mould in the bathroom and a crack/ hole in the wall. The curtains were super dusty and my partner and I had trouble breathing at night due to the dust. The room was not up to a 3 star standard. Most of the photos from the listing are for the AMANEK hotel. AMANEK inn customers do have access to the hotel facilities which is a huge bonus but the inn itself is in much worse condition and the listing is a bit misleading.

Nothing The pool doesn’t have cover so if it’s cold outside then you would have to swim in the dark. Also the pictures are very misleading. This hotel is not the one in the pictures it’s the one next door

I have been to this hotel for 9 days, a year ago. Since then, just about everything went bad. Key thing for most of visitors to Beppu is Onsen quality. Here, temperature of water in outdoor pool went from 33 C last year to 30 degrees, which makes it not pleasant anymore. Water temperature in indoor onsen is now too high as opposed to year ago. I had a chance to talk about this issue with hotel manager, and he obviously didn't care about it. In fact he was snappy during the conversation. On top of that, hotel decided not to give electrical adapters for Japanese outlets to guests anymore. Basically, they don't care if you have electricity or pleasent onsen water temperature anymore. Management of hotel is incredibly stubborn and rigid when it comes to guests needs. All they see is to cash in and that's it. Such a shame for otherwise hotel with great potential and most beautiful onsen facilities.

Nice do take note there is old and new building. Old one toilet isnt very new and yellowish but bed is ok and onsen is nice Toilet can renew and lift too. Hope got clothes hanger inside rooms

Wonderful breakfast buffet, onsen and customer service. Included cute and comfortable yukatas. Close to popular eating areas. The tv shows congestion status for onsen, fitness room and even laundry machines. Rooms are smaller but comfortable.

Overall, there were no negative points to mention.

Great location great center is good hotel Not the hotel — but the behavior of hotel guests. Very disappointing. My recent stay at Amanek Hotel in Beppu was beautiful in many ways — the facilities, the staff, the cleanliness, and the atmosphere were top-notch. But what really dampened the experience wasn’t the hotel itself, but the behavior of some guests. Despite clear signage in English, Chinese, and Korean, I witnessed multiple individuals — mostly adult men, some women — ignoring the basic rules of onsen etiquette. Walking out of the bath completely wet and dripping across the changing rooms, leaving towels on the floor, talking loudly late into the night in hallways when most people were sleeping — these kinds of actions show a lack of awareness and respect for Japanese culture and shared spaces. This isn’t about nationality. I’m not here to stereotype. It’s about manners and mindfulness. If you visit another country — especially Japan, where public harmony and respect for others are so deeply valued — please take the time to learn the basic cultural expectations. It’s not hard. It’s about being a good guest. Unfortunately, when a few people behave poorly, it reflects badly on everyone — including the many respectful, thoughtful international travelers who do their best to honor the local culture. To those who don’t: you’re not just disrespecting the rules — you’re disrespecting the people around you and your own country’s image. Help if the hotel have more staff who aren’t Japanese who have a much strong understanding of cultural awareness to let’s say guide those people who don’t follow the rules, probably some security staff as well.

Good location, just about 3-5 mins walk to Beppu Station. Parking available 600¥ Breakfast is excellent. Didn’t have a drinking water in room but that’s okay.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was really good. I definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice, affordable place to stay. Definitely, spring for the breakfast.

The only thing I liked less was the lobby, which wasn’t very comfortable or inviting to sit in. It’s a pity, because it could have been a much cozier and enjoying space.
