Ryokan Sennari

The staff were very accomodating, and the room was beautiful. The Onsen baths were amazing as well, definitely recommend it to anyone considering. It was also easy to get anywhere in the city as Sennari is only a few minutes from Beppu station. Great location, rooms, Onsen, staff, everything really. The staff were even so kind as to accomodate by holding our luggage on the day we checked out (check out was at 10am, our travel plans had us leaving Beppu in the afternoon).

We enjoyed everything about our all-too-short stay here! The only thing we didn’t like was having to leave after only one night!

Private onsen

We loved EVERYTHING about Ryokan Sennari...we could not have been happier with our beautiful room, the amazing meals , the gorgeous onsen options and the fantastic location. The owner and all staff were incredibly welcoming and warm - we only wished we hade spoken even a little more Japanese to express our delight . There wasn't anything we didn't enjoy...perhaps having one bed rather than 2 separate but very comfortable ones, would have been better but it really wasn't any issue

Style Facilities

Wonderful

Location is amazing, just all the way straight from the station. Staff were really welcoming and nice too. We enjoyed both the private onsen in our room and the reserved one as well. The breakfast was like a feast, a very traditional Japanese way with all the nice plating and delicacies, nice experience.

The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. One staff member who was a server working both dinner and breakfast was so exceptional. She was a very sweet younger woman and we had lovely interactions with her. She really made the stay excellent. Unfortunately I didn't get her name otherwise I would sing her praises here. The food and baths were wonderful and our room was almost comically huge. Our stay here was short, but a highlight of the trip.

Ryokan, onsen, food and officer are good Toilet room

Everything, really. This ryokan is located close to the JR Beppu station (less than 5 minute walk). From arrival until departure, there was not a single moment where we were lacking anything. The onsen were an incredible experience after our long days exploring the area. There is even a beach nearby where you can go swimming. Our rooms were also very spacious and had the perfect blend of traditional look and modern facilities. From our 3-week tour throughout Japan, THIS one was by far our best experience. The ryokan is a bit more expensive compared to your average hotel, but the extra comfort is really worth it. If we were traveling again, we would definitely extend our stay here.

Staff were incredibly helpful and kind, we decided to add on breakfast for the next day at the last minute and they were very accommodating. The breakfast itself is a perfect introduction to traditional Japanese cuisine - highly recommend adding this on. Even though our room had no private onsen, the on-site facilities are available to all rooms. Nothing bad to say.
