Everything about the hotel is Superb! The rooms, the staff, cleanliness, facilities, views, breakfast, even the quality of food in their restaurant. The Hotel looks grand from afar and is even grander once you enter it. It was the best choice for me! I cant seem to think of anything. Everything was excellent

This hotel is quite impressive from the outside. It looks like it could be some kind of important government building. Interior is modern and clean. The value for the money I spent to stay here was pretty incredible. My room, and the other parts of the hotel that I visited were spotlessly clean. The location is pretty great, close to everything you will want to see. The buffet breakfast was good too. You kind of have to be nitpicking to find things you don’t like about this hotel. You do have to pay to use the pool. I’m not sure, but I think she said it was five euros. The red carpet running up the stairs to the main entrance is quite tattered. As an introduction to the hotel, it doesn’t do the rest of the building justice.

Hotel Colombo had a number of features expected from a 5-star experience. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and very comfortable, with an excellent bed, soft pillows and sheets, and a large bathroom featuring a fantastic shower with plenty of hot water and all the expected complimentary toiletries. The wide and well decorated hallways to the grand lobby are also inviting. The standout feature, however, was the pool area: a large pool with plenty of lounge chairs and Balinese beds, plus a pool bar and the option to enjoy pizzas by the pool, which made it even better. Free, guarded, and easy onsite parking was another major advantage. The building has the appearance of a grand U.S. capital-style landmark, is very well maintained, and has an interesting history as a repurposed historic building. The biggest disappointment was the service. We had spent eight days traveling around Albania before arriving at Hotel Colombo, and what stood out most throughout our trip was the genuine warmth of the people and the excellent food. Unfortunately, with a few exceptions, that wasn’t our experience here. The staff were never rude, but they often seemed indifferent and unenthusiastic, giving the impression that they simply didn’t enjoy working there. To be fair, the housekeeping staff were wonderful, and the attendant in the parking area was also very friendly and helpful. The pool bar staff could have been more welcoming, and the music selection was inconsistent. Songs were frequently skipped once started, and at times explicit trap music was played, which felt highly offensive and out of place for a family-friendly pool with children present. The breakfast buffet was another letdown. While adequate, it fell well short of what you would expect from a five-star hotel, especially considering Albania’s excellent culinary reputation. Finally, the hotel has a beautiful breakfast and bar area that seems underutilized in the evenings. It would be the perfect setting for cocktails, occasional live music, or even showing major sporting events like the World Cup, creating a much livelier atmosphere for guests.

The location is pretty good, with some restaurants nearby. The pool is great. The pool is great, but the staff not that friendly, same for the rest of the staff. The breakfast was pretty mediocre. The coffee was great, but the pastries were stale and the fruit wasn’t fresh.

We arrived at 9.15 while breakfast was ending at 10. Nothing was left

I like the hotel and room decor, great location, staff was extremely helpful and hospitable, big size pool, clean and classy. Everything was beyond expectations.

A large and stylish and very grand hotel. Relatively new but built in an older style. We chose this hotel because it was going to be hot and we thought we'd appreciate the pool which we totally did. The pool area was chilled, clean and enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed my beer and pizza there after my swim! The whole family loved our stay there, and it's only about 10 minutes walk into beautiful Berat along a pedestrianised walkway on the opposite side of the hotel to the river.

Front desk could care less. Breakfast was lousy.

A grand hotel in a great location. Easy walk to the pedestrian street leading to the Berat old town. Room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Nothing

Beautiful building. Clean, food was good. We changed twice the rooms because we're not ready. No jacuzzi, the carpet in the halls were torn. We couldn't wear the robes because they were too small. Beds are single. I would rate the hotel as a 3 star. In my opinion, definitely it is not 5 star.

    Great location and breakfast.

The staff and exterior are both fabulous. Nice green area to walk your dog. Close to restaurants and shops. I was there in the off season so may just be an issue then but the breakfast was cold most mornings. The streaming services like Netflix’s and YouTube were not working and there was no tea or coffee in my room as there had been in the past when I stayed on a weekend.

Very impressive property when you drive up. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable.

    Nothing to like

  • Engine customer Feb 2026

Location is just 5mins walking from the Main Street and bridge. Old creaky scary sppoooky. Empty. No staff just 2-3 during a shift. The whole hotel including main entrance lights are off at 10pm. Absolutely shit

The hotel is all palace on the outside but horrific on the inside. It is such a shame because the location is fantastic. Away from the busy promenade and somewhat flat surface to get in and around. The reception was awful. The lobby is not air conditioned and the property allows loose dogs to run through the foyer. The receptionist in general was so rude. The pool which is mediocre is not included in the room rate. Since there is a daily guest fee, the pool seems like it attracts all sorts of people which may bring riff raff. The music is like thumping nightclub and not appropriate for children. When I asked the receptionist to tie up the dog, she made it seem my request was unreasonable. The hallways are not air conditioned and are stifling hot. The rooms are very old and the bathroom is mediocre at best. The breakfast was not good. The tables were not that clean when turned around.
