Hotel staff were very accommodating - upon arrival, they informed us that the air conditioning in our room was not working but that they had a room waiting for us at a neighboring hotel, Oda Tomori. We had a very good breakfast at the Hotel Castle Berati and also had a very good and enjoyable dinner with traditional food and drinks in their restaurant. Nothing

This was by far our best stay in Albania. It’s little hard to get there but here is a clue, just keep driving all the way up to the top of the Mountain until you pass the gated arm. Tell them that you are staying in the hotel and they will let you go with your car if you are driving. I can’t say enough on how beautiful the place is, it was built 2000 years ago but it is so updated from the inside. The temperature was nice and we really enjoyed the view from all the way on top to see the whole mountain. The staff is very very nice and you can tell they are so Happy to see you and they try to help and comfort you in every possible way. They all speak English so communication was so easy. The breakfast was delicious and it was all home made fresh cheese, bread, honey, butter…Another great option was they had an espresso machine making all kinds of drinks and they bring it to your own table. Walking through the mountain was really cool and you get to see shops selling homemade wine, olive oil and traditional clothes. I truly loved staying there and enjoyed hiking through the mountain even though I am afraid of hights..haha. Highly recommend if you are looking for an amazing experience. Great place to visit with or without the family. N/A

It was beautiful in an Ottoman Castle. The breakfast was very good! It was a bit of a hike to the main city of Berat and the bed had a stain on it.

Location was incredible and it was very comfortable Dimitri was very pleasant and helpful Dining room had a very bad stale smoke permeating throughout so much so that several tables got up to eat outside

Friendly service, excellent room, great food and breakfast

Food was excellent, staff was extremely friendly. I liked the firm mattress but the pillows were way too hard and too large (12 cm thick) so my kids couldn’t sleep on them. They need to provide some softer pillows. Also, driving up the narrow road to the castle and dodging tourists while squeezing through narrow archways was an exciting video game. If you are renting a car, get ready to challenge your use of a clutch and handbrake.

Perfect Location and the homemade breakfast. The restaurant and day staff was really nice and helpful. The night staff was a little rude. The hair dryer did not work.

Booked the room on te top floor and banged our heads a lot in the bedroom and bathroom due to slanted ceiling

We hadn’t realized we actually had to drive up the narrow streets and through the gates and enter the castle to reach the hotel. For one night, we likely would have chosen something in town instead. No sunlight in the rooms.

Very cool stay in the castle walls, parking very close by. The free breakfast was great. The room was cozy and well appointed with a beautiful ottoman inspired ceiling. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and wandering the castle in the evening was amazing.

Staff was very engaging and so helpful. The resturant and breakfast were excellent.
