Needs an update

I booked Avalon based on the photos and description online. For nearly $500 per night, I expected the beautiful boutique hotel that was advertised. Instead, after check-in, we were taken to a completely separate building across the street that looked nothing like the property shown in the photos. It felt more like an old apartment building converted into a motel. The room contained little more than a bed, a nightstand, and a TV. It was completely different from what had been advertised. We immediately returned to the front desk and refused to stay. We left and booked another hotel that same night. When I requested a refund, I was denied. As a result, we lost $500 for a room we never even stayed in. Afterward, I found numerous guest complaints describing experiences similar to ours. What surprised me even more was seeing negative reviews followed by dozens of perfect 10/10 ratings, which raises serious questions. This experience felt misleading from start to finish. Guests should receive the hotel they were shown and paid for, not a completely different building across the street. What is especially disappointing is that these complaints are clearly not new, yet nothing seems to change. The hotel appears fully aware of these recurring issues but makes no meaningful effort to resolve them or accommodate affected guests.

An amazing stay! Great location

This is an excellent hotel. The customer service was the best I have ever received. The staff was attentive, helpful, and went out of their way to give guests a great experience. We arrived early and our room was ready well before check- in time. One member of our group popped a button on her dress as we were headed out the door to my nephew's graduation. Someone from the front desk found a sewing kit and ran to our Uber so that the repair could be made on our way to the ceremony. We enjoyed the on site restaurant. The food at Viviene was delicious. We enjoyed the morning coffee, lunched by the pool, and had a celebratory family dinner for 11 at a poolside table. Everything was terrific. I highly recommend the Avalon to anyone looking for relaxed luxury in a neat section of Beverly Hills.

Front desk staff was amazing
-
The layout and historical charm of the place, and the staff were exceptional. It is close to high end stores and restaurants in a very up-market area. It could be quite noisy at times. Light sleepers would be best requesting a room on the top floor.

The staff is always smiling and helps to solve the issue you have. Follow up the process until it is resolved
