DORMERO Strandhotel Rügen

Unfortunately the use of the swimming was not for free.

I was trully surprised when I've arrived to Prora. I thought I will find partly destroyed historical landmark and I saw huge complex with different hotels, restaurants and recreational spaces. Upon arrival by car you need to pass the first barrier - parking will cost you 20 Euro, but it is directly in front of the hotel. The room was spacious, clean, modern, with fantastic shower and well-equiped kitchen. Fantastic, calm stay by the Baltic sea Parking costs 20 Euro! Location: it's on the island and physically distant from any other spot in Germany. I had literally go 150km off my trip just to get there.

Dormero Strandhotel Rügen gives you the perfect opportunity to stay in the Colossus of Prora (but in style.) It is in the formerly 3 mile long KdF building and is a great base from which to visit the museums in the area as well as the seaside resort town of Binz. There are quite a few bars and small restaurants in several of the hotel blocks along the strand. The parking is a bit pricey at 20€ per day.

Location is great for walks on the beach and the hotel was dog friendly. The pool, sauna and gym where well equipped, clean and comfortable. There are some good restaurants and coffee/ice cream shops close to the apartments. The apartments where very well equipped and the kitchenette was great to have! It was a little way from the nearby town (5 mins drive but maybe an hour to walk) but the town is full of bars, restaurants and a few boutique shops- it was very nice to visit and stroll around. There are many supermarkets on the way to town so it is very convenient to fill the fridge and cupboards with any food and drink you need during your stay.

Comfortable stay for a night prior to heading for ferry to Bornholm. Only 10 minute drive to ferry. Cost of car park 15 euros per night is excessive.

The beach, the pool and gym. The rooms are great. Breakfast and parking seemed high.

We wanted to stay in one of the Prora buildings so picker the Dormero Strandhotel. We had a huge apartment, with self catering facilities. We used the pool and facilities It is expensive and we only had one night, would have liked to have spent more time here
