Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Birmingham Colonnade

The hotel was hard to find. I appreciate communities that restrict large signs but there needs to be some signage on Colonade to guide travelers to the various hotels in that area. Jesse was especially helpful.

We did not get much sleep. The noise from the interstate, traffic, planes, room a/c, and whatever hotel equipment running right next to the room was so loud we couldn’t get decent sleep. We kept hoping it would quiet down but it never did. This was by far the worst hotel stay we have had in decades. The staff was seemed inexperienced with the reservation system making for slow check in and out. I would not recommend!

Friendly staff and nice accommodations!

Not too good, breakfast was not good at all. Juice machine was not working. Lights in bathroom did not work. Floors needed to be vacuumed. If I needed a room for more than one night, this wouldn't have been my choice.

Everything was good until we tried to sleep. The air conditioner had a very loud noise coming on and off, which kept us up all night. Another couple in our group had the same problem. And another couple had to change rooms because the air did not work at all in their room. Apparently the system needs to be upgraded.

They put me in a dirty room twice before the third was the charm.

The room was lovely and clean, and it included a small closet and hangers, an ironing board, and mini fridge. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making both the check-in and check-out process go smoothly. Both hot and cold options were available during the continental breakfast, and there were a variety of options. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Our room was on the back side of the hotel, which was adjacent to the highway. Hence, there was quite a bit of road noise as we tried to sleep (despite trying to mask it with white noise). The shower did not drain well, and the shower curtain was either too short, or the rod was installed too high. This resulted in water escaping onto the bathroom floor. I did alert the front desk about these concerns upon checking out.

We were upset the breakfast is not available on the weekend.

The breakfast was insufficiently supplied and staffed. We did not eat due to missing cups, mugs, plates, utensils, and napkins.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was average. Good, safe parking onsite.
