Cascades Inn

Property was clean. It’s old but kept up well. Had a small leak and maintenance came within minutes and was very professional and took care of it instantly.

Issue with wifi, otherwise everthing was excellent.

Rooms were standard with enough space. Its an older hotel so font expect fancy showers or fixtures. We stayed for ine night so it worked out absolutely fine for us. There was a nice garden area too! Very close to the university and lot of other places to eat. Very reasonably priced!

The property needs serious clean up of plants and bushes. There are things growing on the roof! The rooms are old and musty. My room key didn’t work 3 times (new keys). Finally the front desk attendant came and her key didn’t work. They assigned me a different room. 15 minutes later they said the room THEY just gave me had a higher rate than the room I booked and if I wanted to stay there for the duration of my stay, I’d have to pay $300+ more! Again the room I got was their choice. I offered to leave a night early (I had flexibility) and use the amount t of that night to cover the difference. The manager declined that idea… it didn’t provide him enough money. I had to move rooms then. As noted the rooms smell musty and need a dehumidifier. I would not recommend and will not ever stay there again… I just had limited options as it was ‘move in’ weekend for the students so other more optimal places were booked. Two thumbs down. Do yourself a favor… drive farther away if this is your only option.

Classic old school motor lodge from the 70s - for IU move it this was the least price gouging property I could find yet was still like $330 per night which was about $250 too much.

Very old and dated motel. The bath tub and bathroom ceiling all peeling. They don't make up the room unless you request. Old and noisy a/c. Very simple breakfast. Too expensive for what it offers

The room was clean and quiet, 2nd floor facing the woods. The room had a very strong smell of mildew and/or mold.

I was skeptical, but impressed after staying here! It’s a motel with limited bells and whistles, but our beds were comfortable, clean room, good AC, standard shower fine pressure. No hot breakfast but coffee and cold bar was filing—yogurts, bagels, cereal fruit. I’d stay again as the price and location near IU was right on a popular weekend.

Pleasant

The hotel is in need of a lot of repair. We tripped over broken plaster on stairs and peeling potholes paved floor ways. When the breakfast items ran out, they didn't replenish. The restrooms are not vented and we had to buy room freshener. The charges for 3 nights was $960....$320 per night..... exorbitant for such a dump! They didn't have enough pillows, linen and towels for the number of guests despite charging extra for additional guests. Some fellow guests stated that the front desk people were racist!

My travel plans changed at the last minute and made it impossible to use the hotel room. Word.

Doesn't look anything like the pictures! Mattress was horrible!!!

The room was good except that the bathroom door couldn’t fully close. The mattress was a bit more firm than I’m used to but I slept well. Breakfast was limited but we found something to eat. I hope someone finds time to trim the plants back because they were a bit overgrown between the parking spots and the rooms.

The room needs maintenance. If Yoo are going to stay here ask for the double bed never a king bed. It is a 2 star and will keep it like that but not for a 8.3 review. GREAT LOCATION. Could be a great hotel with maintenance.
