SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort

I had the seaview room with a private pool and it was absolutely heavenly! The bed was extremely comfortable, the room surprisingly quiet, and I loved being able to sit by my private pool and look out over the ocean. Breakfast was delicious with everything you could hope for and more - where else is there a Bloody Mary station at breakfast? The staff were attentive and so lovely. Special shout out to Nat at The Tent, to Jijie at Sala Spa (make sure you book with her if you like someone strong - she knows how to give a real deep tissue massage). I left wanting more! My aircon broke down during the night and I had to call maintenance at 10pm, then 3am, then again at 7am. In the end they switched my room and compensated me with a free signature massage (incredible) and gave me a very generous late checkout which I really appreciated. They apologised so many times, and the late checkout more then made up for it. This would not put me off staying again.

The beach!!!! I paid so much extra just to have an oceanfront room and all i wanted was to spend time at the beach and swim and I couldnt!! The water were dirty and warm in a bad way and smelled of fish.. i was really disappointed!!! And the staff werent accomaditing at all when i told them about this issue. I ended up driving every day to a different beach that was part of a much cheaoer and simpler hotel.

The rooms was very comfortable and clean. We loved that we had a pool in our room. The free kayak and paddle board rental was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great, we were a short scooter ride from the Chaweng area. The first night we stayed, there were very noisy people below us. They woke us up at 3am with yelling and laughing. After contacting the lobby about it they tried to quiet them down. The sliding door in the room isn’t very sounds proof so sounds travels a lot. The breakfast wasn’t the greatest. Not many options and the food could’ve been better. We did the Mediterranean dinner they advertised. We were expecting a full dinner like pictured but we but we barely got any food. This dinner cost well over $100 USD. Pictures of it are below.

I staid at the oceanfront villa. My main concern before booking was that there weren’t too many reviews on this specific room, especially is it a decent pool or just a plunge pool like they rest of the rooms. So, first, it is not a plunge pool, but a 1.4 meter deep pool that you can even swim several strokes from side to side. The pool at my villa was private, but not sure if the others are, since the rooms in the surrounding building my overlook into the yard. So the experience of private pool was greate. The location of the property is excellent, close enough to walk to canter Chaweng, but still in quite are The staff on the beach, the bar and chairs were excellent and responsive. The same as the room cleaning service. The hotel has a beach, it sounds funny to mention it on hotel on an island, but if you been in Koh Samui in the past, you know that many hotels, where built too close to the waterfront, and on high tide, the water reaches to the hotel walls. As a all I enjoy my stay. The breakfast is a little lame for an hotel that market itself as high end, and you need to be a detective to find what is where in the buffe. The hotel is over priced, it’s not that high end, especially comparing to Siam Kempinski I stated in Bangkok, that I paid much less and got much much more.

The beach is full of corals, making it impossible to swim without hurting your feet. The hotel has only one swimming pool, which closes at 7 pm, so when the sun sets and it’s finally not too hot, there’s no place to swim. Fortunately, we booked a villa with a private pool. We stayed five nights but never felt like we were on vacation — it felt more like waiting out the days. I’ve never been to a resort where you can’t swim in the sea. A vacation hotel with a pool that closes at 7 pm and no entertainment is really boring, especially for kids. The Kids Club is also only suitable for very young children, so slightly older kids won’t enjoy it at all.

Incredible architecture, great staff. The room with infinity pool and ocean view was amazing. Good food, great views. Not crowded, felt relaxed. Incredible cocktails at the beach bar.

Everything about the property was amazing. It was clean, welcoming, not overcrowded, relaxing, and beautiful. Staff were unbelievable friendly and helpful. That I had to leave.

The location is exceptional, peaceful, beachfront, and close to everything we needed. The room was spacious, the staff were warm and helpful, and the overall atmosphere created the perfect balance between relaxation and comfort. Nothing that affected the stay in a major way.

The property is absolutely beautiful with many facilities. The interior design is super modern and chic. Loved the vibe! Our villa was lovely and spacious and had all the amenities we could ask for. Super clean as well. When we arrived, the staff made us choose our preferred pillows, lotions and soap for our stay with the little samples they had created. This personalized touch was amazing! The app they have to seek additional services and look for offers is super good and we always got prompt responses from the management team if we needed anything. The best thing about the stay was the staff. They are so warm and welcoming - we were greeted by every single staff member whenever we passed by or met them. Anytime of the day! Nothing. It exceeded expectations.

The food could be better, including the breakfast. Room service wasn’t great value for money.
