Royal Hotel Carlton

The breakfast was very nice. But when it was end time they literally asked us to leave so they could clean and would not allow us to take a coffee with us from the machine even though there were paper cups next to the machine. Time was up!! The staff was not very friendly anywhere but the bar. They couldn't register our car for possible going into the ZTL zone because they are not in it. They were just very snotty about everything. There are pictures of a pool - it was horribly hot during our stay - and you are not allowed to use it unless you reserve the entire pool and pay for that. It should not be on their website, it is very misleading and borderline fraudulent.

Wonderful facility. Clean, pretty, great staff. Good value for the breakfast with a large selection. Need real coffee at breakfast!

The hotel staff was outstanding. Very friendly and very professional. We loved our stay at the Carlton. Also, the hotel is in a great location.

AMAZING hotel! Loved the design and the room (we stayed in the suite), everything was clean, the breakfast was incredible. Will return! Everything was great.

Was not able to avail ourselves of the breakfast, due to early flight out the next morning, but we REALLY appreciated the large, comfortable room! & great location, too.

Large comfortable hotel. Very accommodating staff and great lobby bar Some of the rooms need a refresh (peeling paint, old damp stains on wallpaper).

Outstanding service from reception staff any time I had a question or needed help. Room was nice, breakfast was superb, and I'm a person with allergies. Staff in the kitchen carefully checked the food and told me which pastries I could eat and which I should avoid. That I had to leave soon. I'd love to be back again!

The staff

The location was good relatively close to the train station and main attractions! The staff we found a little cold and on the last day checking out they charged us for the room despite already paying in advance. The issue was sorted but be mindful if you book through booking.com. The breakfast was good. The beds were comfortable and room was very clean. One thing I didn't appreciate was the water in the hotel room was 2 euros, no complimentary water was given which was shocking considering this was one of the nicer hotels.

Clean, safe elegant

Unfortunately in the hot and humid weather, the AC was not working well to be comfortable. Or either was controlled which made our stay totally uncomfortable.

Great staff, comfy bed, delicious breakfast, convenient location. Everything was great except the room had a bit of a stale scent. I couldn’t tell if it was some cleaning product that my nose didn’t like or a residue smell of old cigarette smoke that had been removed.

Beautiful hotel, with a nice blend of old and new architecture and design. Very clean, spacious room and bathroom, even a walk-in!
