Hôtel Churchill

Great location, fairly center, easy to access most of the city center by foot. Lots of restaurants + 1 convenience store nearby. Old school key. The AC worked perfectly during the worst heat wave. Room was really spacious and was exceptionally clean, and my standards are quite high. Very quiet outside and inside. There was a gorgeous orchid. Carpeted floor was clean and fluffy, slippers were provided. Bathroom was really spacious and had Clarins products. Employees were all pleasant and helpful. Beds were a bit too firm for my husband, I thought they were okay. The only source of natural light and air was the fully transparent glass door, you have curtains for privacy but it can feel a bit stuffy to not have a window. Found one long thick black hair that didn't belong to me in my towel, which was the only thing about cleanliness that put me off. It's a one way street that is tucked away, Uber and taxis can take some time to arrive, act accordingly. Please note for accessibility: there is no elevator, only a staircase to access the rooms, we didn't mind but it could be discouraging for others.

Great location. Spacious room. The first room we were given smelled like cigarettes. We requested to change. We were told it was fresh paint smelling. The second was better but the carpet on the floor did not seem clean at all. We found hair from previous host in the bathroom, and dust. There were stains on the sheet that seem like blood. We shorten our stay to only one night. When we explained that the room was not clean and smell like dust, we were told it was probably the detergent smell.

The staff! Everyone at the property was beyond kind and accommodating. Anything we needed they were available and willing to assist. Also nice location close to Gambetta area. The bathroom was also very impressive. The room could use a bit of refresh with paint, and we were not fans of the carpet. We could also hear the guests above us and they did not quiet down until late in the night.

Excellent climate control in room. Excellent bed linens and toiletries. Breakfast -excellent continental plus cheeses and hard boiled eggs. No elevator, but the staff are wonderful and offer to bring up and down luggage. Not a complaint, but for the budget conscious like me, be prepared that a standard room has wc closet (that was a bit tight/claustrophobic), sink in bedroom and separate shower with glass door. Go for next price point up for full separate bathroom.

Location is close to the center but in a quiet street, near to all sites. Breakfast is light and very good , a pure French delicious breakfast. Room was spacious, clean and spotless. Many outlets for all the electronics. None
