There was nothing I did not love. Villa Victor Louis is everything I look for in a hotel. The room was exquisite. From the furniture to the draperies and the marble bathroom with its partially enclosed marble-walled alcove for the tub, I was so smitten. Hélène, the owner’s daughter, could not have been more helpful when she oriented me to Bordeaux. My stay was so perfect that I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Bordeaux ever. Breakfast is delicious, abundant, and worth the 15 euros. When I say this hotel is a 20 out of 10, it is not an understatement. Everything—staff, room, location, architecture, garden, history.

The owner was super helpful with plans, reservations, directions, and excursions. She was very friendly and spoke clear English. Room was quiet and cool. Other female staff member was not helpful, was unfriendly and spoke very little. The bathroom tub was narrow and had no place to sit. Didn't have any non slip mat to put in the tub. To restrict hotel patrons, in a wine region such as Bordeaux, to drink wine only in their room, with only one comfortable chair to sit, is ridiculous. I think the hotel would have allowed us to drink wine if we purchased the bottle from the hotel.

That we had no access to the sitting rooms or anything after early evening

Classic French decor with very pleasing colour scheme. The attention to detail was exceptional. The staff is very professional and were able to help us with restaurant reservations. Our lack of understanding of the French language became a problem trying to reserve train tickets to Avignon and our hosts took care of booking the tickets for us. The staff should be congratulated for their excellent service. Minor comment……my partner and I are in our early 70’s and found the bathtub in our room a little difficult to enter and exit A walk in shower would have been preferred

Beautiful room at the top of the hotel, with a view into the courtyard and the sun setting on the stone buildings. Quiet, comfortable room. Two thumbs up.

Other than TV not working - everything else was good. Bathroom stains and luke warm water instead of hot.

There were bedbugs! My face was bitten up on my forehead and on my cheeks, as well as other parts of my body. My partner was bitten on his body too. I told the hotel, but they did nothing. Otherwise the hotel was fine. BEDBUGS!! This is inexcusable...

Great hotel, very clean, specious bedroom, perfect location. Breakfast was not up to the price. Coffee machine needed some TLC.

The staff was great. It was quiet Signage outside is poor. We drove past the place three times. There was no lift. We didn’t know that when we booked. Our room was up two flights of winding narrow stairs. My husband has a heart issue and is not supposed to lift more than 30 pounds. However, the adorable kid at the front desk carried everything up for us. If an elevator is necessary for you, do not book this hotel.

Room was big AC was difficult I got bit four times by a mysterious bug while sleeping that caused my arm to sell on my wrist and twice on my back

Hélène and the entire team made us feel like family! They went above and beyond to accomodate us and assist with recommendations and directions for our stay, always with warm smiles and contagious enthusiasm. The villa itself is so charming and very comfortable beds. I loved the decor and even took some ideas for my home too! While we didn’t have breakfast at the villa, the spread looked delicious and the garden terrace is the perfect place for a morning coffee!
