Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Lovely bar and restaurant area. Clean and comfortable. Parking space was a little tight to get out of during busy restaurant hours but this was a very very minor inconvenience.

Breakfast options were good Lack of hotel resident car park spaces . There was an event on and when we got back to the hotel on second evening there was only one empty bay , which had I been two minutes later would have been taken Nowhere to park nearby either

I was apprehensive when I arrived as I try not to stay at pub hotels as they are usually not great. However what a hidden gem of a place this place was. From the rooms with everything you need and more, a lot of thought had been put into it. Food was lovely both for dinner and breakfast with a nice selection and exceptional staff. I couldnt fault anything.

Location In the past, I stayed in a double room that was very cozy, with both a bathtub and a separate shower. The mattress was firm but very comfortable. Now that I’ve come back and booked the same type of double room, everything was completely different: – No bathtub, and the shower was impossible to use without getting your hair wet since it only had one fixed showerhead. – The bed wasn’t actually a double; it was two small beds pushed together, with extremely uncomfortable mattresses—higher at the feet than at the head, and they felt like they were bending in the middle. – There was also a lot of noise in the hallway between the rooms. When I arrived, I had to wait for the receptionist for almost half an hour, and when I asked to upgrade to a better room, I was told a price almost double the one listed on booking.com.

Room large and comfortable. Bathroom and shower good. Good cooked breakfast included. Dinner was disappointing however staff sorted.

Room was very comfortable and spacious Everything was very good

Staff were Nice. Had to ask for more toilet paper as only one partial roll in room for a 3-day stay. Unfortunately quie far to walk to any dining but ate at Inn which was good.

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

The staff were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The awful bed. It was of inferior quality and bounced when my husband turned over. The mattress didn't fit the bed. The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working so the bathroom was all sweaty. Signage to show directions was makeshift but arguably the area had a lot of building works going on so not entirely their fault.

Great little inn, pleasant garden, tasteful furnishings, comfortable room, friendly staff. Handy stopover en route to Cornwall, would stay again. Would have given full marks but for our dining experience. Unfortunately my husband's meal had to be redone and I had finished my tasty roast dinner before his was re- served. (We weren't charged for the problem meal however).
