The positive aspects were that the hostel provided the bare essentials and the staff themselves were professional. No secure lockers for valuables despite providing a key, no individual luggage storage (only a shared area), no food or drinks allowed, poor communication before check-in, inconvenient entrance that requires staff from the neighboring bar/restaurant to unlock the door, an unexplained £2 deposit that is not returned, terrible soundproofing, and a poorly designed room where the wall-side bed extends into the doorway, making it easy for people opening the door to hit your feet. Overall, this was one of the most poorly managed hostels I’ve ever stayed in. I wouldn’t recommend it unless price is your only concern.

The toilet was outside the room and average cleanliness.

Good location right by the harbour. Sadly the bathroom was not clean, the room ok but right next to bathroom with noisy fan and no lockers in the room to store valuables.

The atmosphere is a bit scary took a long time to understand everything. Not that bad but they can improve.

The location was great, the heating was good, the room was spatious. The restaurant is adjacent to the hostel. Many restaurants around the hostel, meanwhile the room was quiet enough to sleep well. P.S: I got a bed in 3-bed dorm, althought my booking was for 16-bed dorm (probably because of the low demand in that period) There could be lockers installed in each room to leave more valuable belongings there (storage service was for an extra payment). There were not reading lamps and shelves; electric sockets were a little far from the bed. No hygiene amenities included in the price (dental kit, sleeping ear plugs, or shower gel).

    The staff

Given that THEFT BY STAFF (see below) is taking place at this location, it makes no sense to add anything here. And the only positive thing would be the hostel location, but all the hostels are located in this area. So there is nothing good to say about this accommodation THEFT BY STAFF AT THIS HOSTEL. DO NOT BOOK!! They will ask for a deposit *in cash* when you check in (avoiding credit card so you cant contest them - they charge a fee if you want to leave it via credit card). They use any excuse they can find to steal your deposit. I checked out at 10:20 a.m. and they said it was a late check out and refused to return the deposit. The ability to discuss the matter with them is limited as the receptionists at the hostel speak very little English. if you book this hostel anyways, I suggest you do not give them the key back until they agree to return your complete deposit. It is your only leverage. BUT EVEN BETTER: DO NOT BOOK!

The location made it worth it. Right on airport bus lines, and general public transport readily available. Street food markets, cafes, shops, etc. within walkable distance. Good for just one night. You had to ring the bell outside the door to get into the building, but every time I had to wait 5-10 minutes until someone answered since the desk isn't always manned. Everything has an extra charge (5 pounds for luggage storage/per bag, 2 pound nonrefundable charge when you pay with card). The rooms were a bit unclean and had a bit of a smell. Also, each bed didn't have its own designated plug or light. No lockers either.

I only booked it because it was last minute and there was nothing else, but I couldn't force myself to stay there anyway. When I told the receptionist that the conditions are absolutely appalling and unacceptable for me, he wouldn't offer me any refund after I asked. I ended up going to the hotel across the street ahead. It's absolutely shameful that something like this is offered at such a high price. This place is so very below the standards that should be acceptable in Europe. I've been in amazing hostels around the world for a fraction of the price, it's embarrassing that here in the UK we have something like this on offer. Avoid this place at all costs.

The price but then they screwed me over with the deposit after getting bed bugs Bed bugs do not stay here. I woke up in the middle of the night to a couple bed bugs crawling on me. I didn’t sleep at all and when I went to the reception nobody was there. I eventually laid on another bed and when I went to check out a few minutes late in the morning because I was taking along shower after such a disgusting experience, they refused to give me my 20 pound deposit back. I never write reviews but this hostel was so unbelievably bad I had to. Do not stay here, even if last resort

Cheap accommodation, right by the harbour side. 24 hr desk, or assistance for access if issues Tiny room, daft window about 300mm square, uncomfortable bed. Staff are not the friendliest I've met.

Great location, good value. Room was really incredibly hot and I had to sleep with the door open, couldn’t adjust the heater, it was on full during the hottest time of summer.

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

Training on their staff there is one guy wearing glasses and not with cut hair he is very rude shows that he only cared for money n have no customer care, their toilets hygiene was poor

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

Uncomfortable, the smell, not very clean

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

It was the cheapest option at the time I booked it, but I regret getting myself in there. Let's begin with the door of the hostel that had a broken glass, creating an unsafe atmosphere. The hallway to my room was a fever dream maze with more than needed stares and doors. The room had that smell of sickness and sleep breath. The toilets don't even locked and they were dirty as hell. I normally wouldn't mind the paper thin pillow or the shakie bed, but in this case, it adds negative points. Long story short, I ended up checking out a few hours after I checked in, paying for a hotel 30 minutes away from Bristol and paying for a taxi to get there. I explained to the receptionist that I don't feel safe sleeping in that room, as a solo traveler young woman, the nicest way possible. I would never, ever, recommend this to anyone, not even a homeless person. I hope someone reading this will change their minds on booking a bed there.

The room is big, but the space is not used appropriately. 8 bunks (instead of 16 songle beds) beds would create space enough to have a common area (there are currently 2 sofas, but 2 beds block them!), and would allow for lockers to be installed They charge for left luggage. If you pay to leave 2 bags with them, you end up paying more for one night than the next cheapest hostel in Bristol which doesn't charge to leave bags, has a kitchen, has a common area, has nicer facilities...

  • Engine customer Jul 2025

Plenty of toilets and showers No hooks on the back of toilet doors, no access without buzzing reception, room was very far from reception and had to go through several doors and up and down stairs, no lockers, no common area, no kitchen
