We have stayed at Hotel Portinari several times now, and it has become our first choice whenever we visit Bruges. Location: The location is perfect for us—within easy walking distance of the city centre, restaurants and shops, making it an ideal base for both business and leisure trips. Room: The rooms are stylish, spacious, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. They have a fresh, contemporary feel while still being welcoming, and we've always had a relaxing stay. Breakfast: We haven't yet had the opportunity to try the breakfast as we've always been travelling on business and leaving early, so we can't comment on that. One of the standout features of the hotel is the reception team. They are among the best we've experienced during our travels—professional, genuinely friendly and always happy to offer helpful local recommendations and insights. The restaurant is also excellent, with great food and a lovely atmosphere. We always look forward to returning and would highly recommend Hotel Portinari to anyone visiting Bruges. Nothing to say

Very comfortable and couldn’t ask for a better location. We didn’t enjoy the no door, no wall (and lack of proper curtain) of the bathroom inside the room.
-
Excellent location, nice sized room, great value for family sized room, great breakfast
-
Centrally located with great staffing who were very helpful and friendly. Anne was very helpful and went out the way to recommend places and restaurants to visit and was also very accommodating for our week stay there. Special mention to Charlotte as well. Nothing

The rooms are modern and nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and quick to respond to any issues.

Great location. Very helpful staff Everything was fine

Can't think of anything.

Location is great, quiet yet 10 minutes walk and you will be in Markt square. If travelling by car, there is a huge car park below the square in front of the hotel so you're literally a few metres away. Room was a good size and very comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and always happy to assist. Nothing

Bathroom took a bit of getting used to.

Location is great and staff were helpful I requested 3 separate beds as we were 3 guys but when we arrived late it was one bunk bed and one double bed.

The hotel's location is excellent near the heart of Bruges, close to the train station (one bus stop away). The lobby and service were excellent, with fresh water available at all times, umbrellas to borrow, luggage storage, etc. Elevator is fast and practical. The room's size was very good, fridge and safe in the room, but fridge was really weak. This was a 3-star room at best. Mattress and pillows were average, bedding synthetic, limited storage (and the built-in fridge made the entire closet too hot so we couldn't use it to store anything). Door between bathroom and room is not thick enough or hermetic enough, and even then, half of it is glass and covered by a curtain. The sink looks fancy in the middle, but there's no space to put soap or anything near it. The room wasn't that clean when we went in. There was dirt in the closet, under the bed, and near the sink.

There were mosquitoes in the room, which is a general problem in Brugge. We asked for (and was approved for) a king bed but our room had two twins that kept getting separated. There is no room in the bathroom to put ant toiletries etc. the AC kept getting turned on by itself when we were in the room, which was not great

Close proximity to many sight seeing opportunities. Elevator. Proximity to independent parking garage below. I liked the refillable water bottle with choice of still, chilled or sparkling water. One staff member was surly and at times rude “ you need MORE towels???!!!! despite having two rooms on the booking and the first towel delivery being to one room and the second to the other—and it being none of their business given we didn’t have rooms serviced between consecutive day staying there. Invasive questioning from our (Canadian) perspective Busy tourist area. Tip - avoid 5th floor as rooms are slanted and lose space for 6’ plus tall people. Hotel lobby fragrance is overpowering

Very good location!!
-
Bath "room" was probably made by some fancy designer, so looked good, but hilarious unusable layout.
-
The shower didn’t have a door, could be inconvenient for families

Great location, close to parking, restaurants, and the city is so small that all touristic places are close by. Rooms are modern and clean. Lots of natural light. Staff is friendly. The room was perfect for a family of 4 with 2 young kids. One of the rooms had only a tub to shower. It was just one of those handheld showers with a hose, but there was nowhere to attach it up high

Professionnel staff

Amazing location especially if you are driving into Bruges, as there is a big carpark just a few steps away.
