We did not stay there, when we arrived we were shown to our room, from the entrance we turned left and at the end of short passage the attendant opened a door to a stairwell in which was a steep staircase up to our room!! There is no lift and this room apparently was not accessible even from the normal staircase of the building. I have never seen this before in a 5star hotel in al my many travels around the world. My wife had injured her leg and it was therefore it was impossible to stay there. We were offered a room in the sister hotel, the Queen Victoria, which we accepted reluctantly, also not up to 5star standard,it had a tiny bedroom with only one chair, we ordered room service and the waiter arrived with a tray, but there was nowhere to put it, so he fetched a trolley and I sat on the bed to eat! Most of the room was taken up by a passage and an over large shower room, no bath, where the shower pressure was pathetic. Not a good experience. That said the staff were excellent and we had dinner there on our last night, reluctantly but my wife’s injury made necessary, and we were pleasantly surprised because the dinner was excellent.

Fantastic Location, great staff, especially Ashley who made sure all our needs were taken care of. Hotel is a little on the pricey side for what it is.

Staff are so friendly and amazing - especially Abigail and her reception team. The spa team with Adele was excellent. The pool guy was attentive and helpful. We stayed in Dock House 1 and the suite was amazing. Location is safe and very close to all the shopping and food. The gym was adequate for a holiday gym. Staff resolved the small issues that we did have quickly and without fuss. Excellent customer service. It's quite close to the town centre so the music can be heard on the weekends til 2am and weekdays til midnight.

Perfect location. The team are incredibly helpful and friendly. It’s a little difficult to find by car, we called reception and the most friendly and helpful gentleman stayed in the phone, given directions and even ran towards our vehicle to find us, that is excellent service’ The room itself was beautiful and the bed most comfortable. All together a very comfortable and pleasant stay.

Location was amazing, just across the road from V&A. Staff very friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed The room we were given was not a 5 star room. The drapes had rips in them, the doorknobs on bathroom were so loose I thought they’d fall off, something fell off the wall in the bathroom. Half our room was taken up by a big bath tub- we are not bath people and it was just wasted space. It was not at all what the pictures showed. If we had seen this room we wouldn’t have taken it

We found the Dock House to be the perfect starting point after landing in Cape Town! It's a bit hard to find at first, but once you know where to go it's very conveniently and centrally located on the V&A Waterfront. The rooms are lovely, well-appointed, and the beds are quite comfortable - there was even a veranda for us to have our morning coffee! The included breakfast is wonderful - everything was delicious and Ashley takes extreme care in both the decor and latte art. Would definitely stay here again!

Super special welcome, amazing location, beautiful room and great cleaning and luggage services. I would expect more support to book some nice restaurants, we were recommended & booked for a very touristic average restaurant at the waterfront.
