It was good The food and the comfort comfort

I loved the location of the hotel; it was walking distance to the V&A Waterfront. The breakfast buffet had fabulous options. The staff was GREAT! They brought a birthday gift to my husband since it was his birthday! The housekeeping manager came to check to be sure our room was cleaned to our satisfaction and ensure the room had been serviced for the day. The first night the hostess at the restaurant turned away at least 2 dozen guests for dinner, including us. We were tired from traveling and chose to order at the bar area and eat there. It was disappointing we didn't get seated in the restaurant area since it was empty at prime dinner time.

Excellent location and restaurant

The location. The staff were very friendly and greeted us everytime they saw us. Rooms were very comfortable as was the bed. Bathrooms excellent with plenty of hot water. As this is an older hotel that is gorgeous, the air conditioning was very noisy in the rooms. Luckily I could sleep with the noise. I understand that trying to change the old fashion air conditioners would change the beauty of the Commodore. Be aware if you are a light sleeper. As the temperatures were at least 38 degrees I needed to be cool.

It wasn't clear where to park our car and the parking lot didn't have a lift so we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs.
-
the bath The room and bed, despite being a queen bed and deemed as a queen luxury room was very small with little space to comfortably accommodate my family. We had to request the sofa bed which was in fact not a sofa bed but a single "boardinghouse / prison bed" lookalike. Overall I was very happy that was spending only one knight and not my whole holiday there.

Location, if you are mostly going to spend your time around the water front, the best location for the value. Actually food, drinks and shopping is all in WF. 5th and 6th floors have a table Mountain View and the marina, rooms were nice clean and feel secure. There is a balcony and the windows are all the way ceiling to the floor. Area is very safe and you can walk to the city safely, View from the room was one of the best. The bathrooms are outdated and hotel reception can be nicer. Sound of air conditioning might be problematic for the light sleepers. It’s a nice but feels outdated but in same time you feel clean and hygienic

Room was big and clean. Staff decorated nicely for honeymoon and were friendly. The gym was closed, main reason i booked the hotel.

I always stay at The Commodore when I’m in Cape Town. I like everything about the hotel - staff, location, rooms, food…

Location was fantastic, thats really what you pay for. Lovely views and had close proximity to the V&A waterfront. The rooms were very shabby, when we entered there was a distinct mustiness to the room. Bed was small and uncomfortable and generally was a low standard for the price you are paying.

This has been my favorite Capetown hotel for over 10 years. Location to V&A is easy 5 minute walk, Staff go out of there way to treat you like family, rooms very clean & comfortable. Restaurants very reasonable with great variety. New Addition is the in house "Tour Concierge ~ EKSPRESS TRAVEL & TOURS" the owner Mr. Munebe a long time Cape resident & staff will provide quality transportation and guided private tours to area attractions and airport. It was all perfect, including the visit from Santa

Excellent location to explore Cape Town and the surrounding area.

The location is good. It’s about a 5 minutes walk to the waterfront The AC unit didn’t have the option to close the vents

Staff, bar, rooms are HUGE. Gym is nice & the pool which they just recently renovated?? the fries are amazing the breakfast is soo delicious. A few shout outs especially to Lisa in management she gets the job done. All of the staff are great, they always remember us when we go back which is so adorable! No complaints from me

The location suited us for what we had gone to do First they got my booking wrong i.e. gave us a smaller room than we had booked and it took them too long to sort out. Secondly the Wifi was horrible. Thirdly , when we booked they didn't indicate that the pool was unavailable and that was one of the main reasons I had chosen them as I was travelling with my 11 year old daughter.
