West Inn & Suites

We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely stay here again! The room was very clean, the shower was huge, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. We slept great! The staff was courteous, friendly, and got us checked in quickly. The location is fantastic, especially being right by the beach. There is a train that runs nearby, but honestly, we didn't hear it at all during our stay. And the breakfast was amazing! It was a full buffet with plenty of options to choose from, not just your typical grab a muffin and go hotel breakfast. By the time you factor in what you'd spend taking the family out for breakfast, paying a little extra to stay here practically pays for itself. Clean room, comfortable beds, great location, friendly staff, and a fantastic breakfast. All around a great stay and definitely 5 stars from us! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This hotel was beautiful and the breakfast was excellent. Daria the front desk person couldn’t have been nicer and she was so helpful. We came over from another hotel that we had booked and canceled (because it was filthy do not ever stay at the best Western Carlsbad by the sea) that same day and Daria told us exactly what to do. We will definitely be coming back to the West Inn not only because it’s such a beautiful hotel but because Dario was so kind and helpful.

Stayed here for Legoland. It gave us what we needed, good location, comfy bed, free breakfast, and a pool. Sad the restaurant across the parking lot closed, we had to jump on the freeway to go get food with hungry kids but we made it work.

I booked last minute and arrived very late at night. Night front desk staff was very kind. Upon arrival, the lobby smelled fresh. The beds were comfy, and rooms were clean. Breakfast had a variety of options. I recommend this property and will stay again whenever in Carlsbad.

Nice rooms that are in good condition, but hot tub was broken, there was salad spilled on the ground outside the hotel for 3 days, etc.

The room was clean and the breakfast was good. Parking is no additional cost and easy access. I did not rate our stay higher because we were not able to use the safe in the room. We requested it to be fixed twice and after the second time they told us it could not be fixed. It would have been nice to leave electronic devices in the room in a secure place.

jacuzzi was broken, pool area needed TLC

With our Legoland annual passes, this is our 4th time staying here. It’s clean and walking distance to take a jog or walk next to the beach. Definitely recommend for families!

This was a great big room with a very comfortable bed. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast could use improvement on taste.

You should either put a fan in there or you have to fix the wood on the door. The pillows were great. The towels were a little rough.

We were there for two nights, the rooms were clean and just the right size for the three of us. There was a separate area with sofa bed for my 16-year-old son. It was quiet, and everything that we needed was in the room, such as hairdryer, refrigerator, etc. The staff was very nice, and gave us information when asked, and also when we borrowed beach equipment. The only.” needs improvement.” comment I would give would be for the breakfast. There were a lot of choices, and I think the waffles were a great idea especially if you have young kids. The only comment I have is the potatoes were peppered to the point where it was almost too peppery to eat, the eggs seemed a bit powdery, and the sausage was a bit tough/rubbery. But overall, I think there were a lot of choices so we could choose other things. We would stay there again if we were down that way. Thank you.

Convenient for our trip to Legoland. Room was a good size. The breakfast was really quite disappointing, especially considering the price we paid for our stay.
