B&B Turiddu

The breakfast was very poor! They dont change the towels and dont bring the soap and shampo , just what you find in the first day

Clean room, nice breakfast (if you like eating sweet things for breakfast). - No window view to Etna, only to a loud construction site. (at least in my case) - They could have put on fly nets on the windows. They are not expensive or difficult to put on. Quite a few mosquitos came in, and I heard other people complaining about it as well. - They could have given us more smaller sized pillows. - No savory breakfast. I know in Italy they eat sweet things for breakfast but I still missed to have some savoury options. - Old TV with very few English channels. Most places buy the cheapest smart TVs so you can at least use Netflix on them. - Filthy neighbourhood. Make sure you don't walk around alone, and wear strong thick shoes so the glass pieces on the ground can't hurt you. (I didn’t make the review all in all so bad because this is not something they can do anything about.)

What the pictures don’t show is the empty space right next to the apartment block, which looks quite desolate, but you can’t see it when enjoying the view from the bed. I recommend opening both windows and enjoying the sunset over Mount Etna from the bed. I arranged the pillows to create a comfy seat for watching. Maybe one suggestion for the owner would be to switch the position of the bed so you can enjoy the view while lying down directly. The breakfast was quite poor - only sweet options, not of the highest quality, and not very fresh either. The water from the fridge that we were served also tasted bad.

The location is convenient, close to public transport, shops and the city center. Very friendly and kind staff.

A welcoming host and a good, clean room with a good sized bathroom. Shared kitchen to store and make food. Walkable distance to the centre of Catania, the train station, and close to supermarkets, but area is quiet. Superb shower!! Helped book a taxi to the airport. Backs on to a street that doesn't look to be the safest at night.

We had an absolutely fantastic week at this B&B. The room was modern, spotlessly clean, and was tidied daily with fresh towels provided each time. The highlight was definitely the beautiful view of Mount Etna from our balcony, which made each morning and evening feel special. The host was extremely friendly and helpful, always available to answer questions and give tips on the local area. Their hospitality really made our stay extra enjoyable. Overall, we were totally satisfied and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable stay with great service and stunning views. -

It was the second time we stayed at the B&B due to its location. It is easy to reach from the airport with the shuttle into Catania train station and only 10 minutes walk which suits us perfectly. The owner and staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms have nicely been decorated and the mattresses are very comfortable. The B&B is also very quiet and perfect for a light sleeper like me. Around the B&B building it looks dirty and unsafe but it is not, however, it can make people feel unsafe. The room and bathroom itself are clean but the dark wall behind the bed was very dusty and covered in cobwebs and needed urgent cleaning. The breakfast is very simple and because one of the staff is constantly there in the rather small room, one feels uncomfortable while eating.

Amazing view

The location was perfect, the inner city was very easy to reach with a 10 minute walk, several bus stops around the building, including the shuttle bus to the airport, a Lidl and also a local supermarket were also just a few minutes away. The hosts were friendly, kind and available, they made us feel welcome. The kitchen was well equipped, apart from the breakfast there were tea, cookies and coffee available all day, and there was a fridge for the guests to use as well. Our room was nice and clean with enough towels, the bed and the pillows were comfortable, the air conditioner worked perfectly, there were enough space for everything. The breakfast mainly consisted of sweet pastries, fruits and bread with butter and jam, cereals, coffee, tea, yoghurt, which was all very delicious, but if you prefer a savory breakfast, you might have to buy some additional food. All in all, we would definitely come back, it made our stay in Catania lovely. If you are a noise sensitive person or a light sleeper, I would bring earplugs with me as neither the doors nor the walls are soundproof. Even if you don't want to have breakfast around 8-10 am, you will still wake up for the noise of others eating in the kitchen, or be disturbed by the neighboors.

They greeted us at the door, which was great. Also staff is friendly and always smiling. There are many parking spots around the place, which is also good. Not too far away from the city center, it's on walking distance. Noise. Rooms are next to the common place where the breakfast is served, and you hear people's voice and also the person who was preparing the breakfast preferred to keep his cellphone ringer on, I woke up with his cell phone twice (in different days) around 9 am, which is not the best experience especially after a long night. Also, rooms are being opened by a card, but they are making prison cell buzz sound :) So, when people go for breakfast, you should expect many buzzing sounds around 8-10 am. Similarly when people come back to their room as well at night. Breakfast, as many others mentioned as well, was mediocre. A final note, housekeeping is starting after 10:30, but they of course start earlier so expect some cleaning noises on top of everything around 10 am. No fridge in the rooms (there is a common one at the kitchen though).

The rooms were very nice, and the staff was super helpful! We had problems with having to leave earlier than the breakfast times two days and they were very flexible, gave us something to eat every day. The only disadvantage is the location, it is not far from the historic centre, which is nice, but other than that it is quite a messy area, dirtly and is at least 30min busride to any of the beaches, etc.

The balcony view of Etna and the Catania city scape was easily the highlight. Staff were super helpful and supportive with giving directions and providing taxi contacts - I was even allowed to check-in early after arriving on an early flight from Napoli to Catania, even providing the option of enjoying breakfast that very same morning. Even though I was travelling solo, the room was spacious enough to accommodate a couple. Bathroom facilities were clean and fully functional. AC also working and adaptable which was a big plus in summer Sicilian temperatures. Very minor points: lack of a room safe for valuables; perhaps breakfast could have included more hearty options such as cold meats and cheeses.

The staff was absolutely amazing! Made me and my partner feel comfortable as soon as we arrived, the breakfast was excellent fresh pastries and fruit and juices, the room was in an amazing condition and was cleaned daily, B&B was also in a great location. From our balcony you could see mount etna very clearly and was beautiful to see on an evening Loved all of it, nothing we didn’t like!
