The only issue was the overpowering smell of cleaning agents. Very chemical and strong enough that my wife was worried about sleeping. Luckily airing the room out for a couple of hours while we were out worked ok although we couldn't use the extra pillows.

The self checkin is easy and very good instructions were given - it really helped us since our flight was late in the evening. The location is nice - a room in a bigger apartment suite, with shared kitchen where you can also serve some coffee from the machine. The terrace overlooking mount Etna is great!

Location is quite central with numerous restaurants and shops around, smooth check in and communication with owner is efficient, you have everything you need in the apt. Comfortable bed is a big plus! In the winter the room is a bit cold even with AC on but I guess there're only few days per year..

Communication with owner - great, polite. I received all the information needed, and grateful we could store the luggage safely, for some more hours. The apartment is super as location, as cleanliness, the bed mattress a dream (I keep on asking if I want to buy for my own bed this mattress, but don´t know the brand)... until 06.30 in the morning when you will be woken up by the market noise. The market itself is a jewel and we took great advantage of buying all kinds of stuff, but the noise, simply ruining it. Noted the earplugs in the room (it´s a first, but neither me or my husband used it, as for both of us it´s not comfortable... those who can, use them or bring your own!). Coffee at Kennedy (breakfast of the accommodation) was appreciated by my husband and he´s very picky. Only 2 other places in Catania pleased him in terms of coffee and this was the third one. Croissants ok. Well, we had only one breakfast (out of 2) and when I asked for a "spremuta" at 10:00, the boy there said they they finished it. No more than 5 minutes later comes a private client, sits, asks for the same juice and hopla, magic happened, the "spremuta" is back to life. No way Jose!!!! Casa Musumeci, talk to the Kennedy manager, he doesn´t like your clients. The noise at 06:30 in the morning kills all the joy!

We read the reviews of others and we know Catania already, so we booked the room for one night, where we knew, there is no market on the next day (public holiday on 15.08). The view on the Etna is great and the very big advantage is that the metro station plus several stores are just front of the building. The beds and the bathroom are clean and alright, no insects. Besides the fridge in the room there is a further bigger one in the common room. There is a small elevator helping to get to the 5th floor. We would have been satisfied with our stay anyway, but we have got some extra, that makes this apartment so special with it's great view to the Etna. We could witness the eruption of the Etna that night from the balcony, that is amazing. Check the announcements of the vulcano experts upfront, and if thre is a chance for an eruption, don't go anywhere else!!! Every other day of our journey could have been only the second best after seeing the Etna while eruption...

The check-in process is quite helpful, particularly if your flight is late. Very good communication with the host, they are very helpful. The apartment is placed at 10 min walk from the historical center and 15 min walk from train station.
