Il Principe Hotel

The room was full of dust. The furniture is dated and not well maintained. The bed sheet was ruptured and on top of everything we found some bugs both on the bed headboard and on the bathroom tile. We tried to identify the type of bugs using Google as we were afraid not to be bedbugs. Not clear as we smashed them before. Anyhow, we had to disinfec all our clothes and luggages just to be sure we don't bring back home such "souvenirs". Not a good experience for us and I do not recommend this hotel even if the location is grear and the reception personnel was very nice.

1. The bottle water in mini bar was half of bottle 2. The checkout was 11am, but the room card was not available at 9am 3. Said no staff to provide room service

My shower had mold in the corners and the doors did not close completely and the water leaked out onto the floor. The bed was not comfortable.

Breakfast was very good. Lots of variety and staff was helpful and friendly. Location of the hotel was very good, close to the square. Room fridge could have been bigger. Could have offered a complimentary water. We took hotel water out and went and bought our own. Air conditioning controls were hard to understand.

Great location So run down and dated. Almost everything in the bathroom is broken. Air-conditioning control system was broken. Needs a major face lift. It is more of a 2-3 star hotel rather than 4

The location of the hotel was nice. Traditional charm. The wifi signal in my room was extremely poor, and therefore I could not accomplish any work. No complimentary water bottle. Safe was too small to fit laptop.

Location was quite good, just a short walk from the Duomo and some of the main sites of Catania. The room was quite large and we had paid extra for a corner with balconies looking in 2 directions, which was nice. The entrance to the hotel and the exterior were quite scruffy which gave us concerns but the room was OK. The hotel occupies 2 buildings on opposite sides of the little street, and our room was on the other side but the route to get there is indoors in a quite smart marble-floored passageway. Some of the corridor ceilings are showing signs of water entry and have not been re-decorated. There was no parking space so we parked about a 10-minute walk away in a public car-park, and the car suffered no damage. Breakfast was typical mediocre hotel breakfast with cold scrambled eggs and bacon. Overall, a thorough clean and re-decoration would help the hotel a lot.

Nice hotel, close to the center. Good breakfast. Kind staff. It would benefit of some renovation. I’d go back. Nothing particularly, in general some renovation would be good.

Breakfast was good . Location was very good The bathrooms were very poor, mould around bath and shower. Looked dirty.

Location was great, staff at reception very friendly. Heating system, one could not heat the room without talking to reception, and even then the room was cold. Quality of bed, bathroom condition. Breakfast was terrible, everything: food, selection, coffee, ambience. We only had breakfast once, that was terribel enough.

It was a great location, the staff were very helpful and friendly even though we had a few issues with our room 206. The fridge was not working and the shower head and slider rail needed replacing, the bed was very hard and although the air conditioning was working, it did not seem to cool the room despite being set to 18 degrees.

The hotel is located right in the middle of the historic city center. And there were so many restaurant options that were within walking distance.

Location was brilliant. Despite booking.com website, there is no bar at t his Hotel and no coffee Dock or snacks, Internet did not work in our bedroom.

We are very disappointed of this so called 4* hotel. First, it says it has parking, but on arrival you get surprised with the info that it has to be booked in advance. The room was poorly maintained, there was dust everywhere, not to mention that there was not a single glass where you can pour yourself water. On the first night we asked for extra blanket, and what was given to us was so worn out, that it was actually unusable and pleasant! The breakfast was the bare minimum. I don't recommend this hotel!

Location WiFi didn’t work properly. It kept disconnecting from the internet every few minutes. Meanwhile, cell reception is nearly non existent. I didn’t have internet for most of my stay while in the hotel. Staff did not have a solution.
