The Owner is very friendly and helpful, communicates quickly, and speaks English fluently. The room was quite big, clean, and the bed was quite comfy. Also, there was a big fridge in the room, which was quite practical. Also, the windows have mosquito ne.ts so you can open them without running the risk of getting stung. There is a breakfast area with a little kitchen as well as a terrace. The room is on the top floor, but there is an "elevator" for the luggage, which is quite convenient. The door of the shower was broken; overall, the room could do with a bit of an update. As it is located quite centrally, there is some noise from the street also during the night, especially vespas driving around, so expect that...

Nothing it was really lovely!

The room and bathroom were spacious. It was an interesting historical building. Santos was extremely helpful and informative. He also has an ingenious device for winching luggage up to the flat. The area is quite run down where it is located.

The location - main atractions are very close The rooftop terace Great price You have to climb 62 stairs to get to the accomodation. The facilities are basic and you really have the feelling you are in a museum, which is not a bad thing, but not for more than a night. For a late check in, there is an extra charge of 30 euros.

We stayed here for 4 days. Our planet was late and also delayed. I asked the owner of we could check-in around 22.30-23.00 and he accepted it. This is a beautiful historical buildings. An old museum. A wonderful owner who told us about the historical places nearby and tourist attractions. Free coffee and croissant for breakfast. If you want to go on day trips he can drive around the whole Sicily and show you tourist attractions. We already planned a rental car so we didn't ask him for the tours around Sicily. If you have problems with walking the stairs because of pain and such. Maybe this Is not the place for you. Otherwise we loved this place! Beautiful and your own toilet and a small refrigerator. I couldn't upload the videos I recorded of the hotel. Check ny review on Google maps if you want to see almost the whole hotel. Fo l l öw Insta South.swedish.viking For history and travelling

We could not have had a better experience at BellAqua! Room was absolutely fabulous, huge and so comfortable. We loved the bathroom too - in the original 1960s/1970s style but with an extremely powerful shower! And of course, there's the owner Santo! Santo made our experience in BellAqua and Catania so special. He sat down with us and the map of the city and talked us through different areas and all the very many sweet and savoury delicacies of the area. He is hilarious. We loved the location also, as a couple (two women) we felt safe walking back to the building at night. Also, if you can manage stairs, don't be put off by there being no lift - Santo hoisted our heavy bags up and down so we only had to get ourselves up the stairs!

Such depth of history in the building and the area. Santo was great, lovely check-in, very detailed information with great local recommendations. Nothing, it's an authentic place with heart. Santo lives and breathes Sicily. If you visit a new country this is exactly the type of person you want to meet.

Santo is a gracious host who made us feel very welcome. Before we arrived he contacted me to advise the options to get there from the airport. When we did arrive he spent time showing us where to visit and recommendations on what to see and foods to try. Also a bit of the building's history.

The location. Lots of stairs! It doesn't have AC either, but that's stated in the ad and the operators mentions that before you pay.

I was impressed by the photos but the reality is so much diffrent. The flat is located in an old building and there is no elevator so we had to climb 72 steps during very hot temperatures( over 34 degrees) and the streets were extremely dirty. I have photos of the dirt that wasn’t picked up by the owner during the 3 days, exactly in front of the entrance. Same entrance, same dirt and plastic bags and unbeatheable smell all the time…also no air conditioning but this was mentioned by the owner in the advert. The room was decorated with old furniture with cracked windows (glass was broken) and the painting from the walls was falling off. I have photos of these. Although it was cleaned up, it was not at all as it is presented on booking so don’t be fooled by the photos because the reality is so much diffrent. You can find better accomodation for the same price or even lower. I would not reccommend!
