Le Dimore Degli Archi Catania

I stopped here for emergency accomodation after a VERY late arrival in Catania due to an extensive flight delay (12 hs). The staff was fantastic, super understanding and accomodating. I could not be more grateful. I arrived took a shower and headed straight for bed at nearly 1:30 AM. Everything was perfect. The room was clean, silent and cool. The bed was super comfy. No complaints.

There are some damp patches and peeling paint on the walls from the AC, which could use a touch-up.

The room wax clean and the staff nice. The noise outside the room makes it impossible to sleep. You can hear the conversation and use of bathrooms of the other guests.

walking distance to hot spots and train station, modern and cute decor, friendly staff that’s very helpful via whatsapp, overall enjoyable. only ONE con - there’s mildew in the shower. i know it’s humid so likely hard to maintain but it was triggering *something*, i constantly had a stuffy nose when i entered the room room that allergy medicine couldn’t fix. and it would be fine when we left the room. not sure if it was just our room (smallest one) as the other reviews are great.

- they told me a code to open the door via CCTV cameras, when there were another people around. Everyone was able to hear the code. - It wasn’t possible to close the doors from inside. If anyone heard the code they would be able to get inside…

Great location, grocery shop nearby, big bathroom, clean room. Communication with the host could have been better. Checking in was difficult, its a residential building, host was not there, I spent more time texting him than one should. I pick places with 24h reception exactly to have this service, I do not wish to seek for ways that I can provide host with my ID or spend time at a locked door upon arrival. He wanted to check me in remotely, which would be fine if I did not filter for 24h reception.

Location was not far from most of the city features. Room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was just enough to start the day. Parking was limited.
